And how deep in the playoffs? Right now, I say this is a 50 win team.

60+, I remember Cleveland going from 61 win team to 19 win team after Lebron left in 2010 so it could also be a very wild swing for the Lakers.

Better question is how will this team look like next season...

Terms of starters and minutes.

Either add Kawhi or Lonzo/Ingram/Randle

Are the 2018 Lakers a better team than the 2017 Cavaliers?

Cleveland:
G: George Hill, Rodney Hood, Kyle Korver, Jordan Clarkson, Jose Calderon
F: LeBron James, JR Smith, Larry Nance Jr, Cedi Osman, Ante Zizic
C: Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson

Los Angeles:
G: Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Lance Stevenson
F: LeBron James, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Julius Randle, Svi Mykhailiuk
C: Javale McGee, Moritz Wagner, Ivica Zubac

I actually like the Lakers roster better than the Cleveland NBA Finals Roster.

50, our young core is solid but man the elevation of LeBron is insane. Hart and Kuz are perfect players for him to play with.

Same here, barring the boneheads we got for the bench our young guys seen to have above average to great bbiq.

I just hope they're healthy.

I thought this team, when healthy and beyond the rookie learning curve, was a 45 win team coming in to next season.

If we manage somehow to keep Randle, we're now upper 50's.

If we have to let Randle walk but still somehow have to wait a year for KL, we're lower 50's.

With KL and LeBron, keeping Ingram, Kuz, Lonzo, Hart and a decent center? Could be 60 plus.

My guess is high 50's.

As I do every year, I choose 82 because I go into every game expecting to win!

McGee doesnt get more than 10 minutes a game because of asthma. 20 minutes is pushing it for him. Theres no way he starts.

As of right now, as constructed.. I say 52.

The Lakers lacked a closer last year. They had about 19 games they lost by 9 points or less. They were competitive in a lot of games minus that one stretch where they were awful.

LeBron James is a closer.

I also voted for the 50-54 win range.

Of course we don't know what our final roster (or the rosters of other teams will be), but as of now I'd say this is the order of where we stack up against the rest of the West:

1) Golden State
2) Houston
3) Utah
4) Portland
5) Lakers
6) Oklahoma
7) Minnesota
8) New Orleans

This is assuming Kawhi sits the whole year for the Spurs...but hopefully we get him tomorrow.

FiveThirtyEight

@FiveThirtyEight

According to CARMELO, FiveThirtyEight’s NBA Player Projection system, the current Lakers club with LeBron would be projected to win 52 games, with a 11% probability of winning it all next season.

Voted 50-54. There will be patches of adjustment so I don't think 60 range is realistic. Think once the playoffs hit, we'll be humming and reach Conference Finals. We win that if we have Kawhi. Close series if not.
