Good pick up!

Happy for this kid, Joe Berry II and J. Carroll.

*Lakers sign Malik Newman, Joel Berry II and Jeffrey Carroll in undrafted free agency

Joel Berry is the guy I'm excited about because at least I know the ball will move during Pro League.

Newman is a legit UDFA pick up. I have my preferences.

His game reminds me of Terry Rozier, a lot.

He reminds me of Lou Williams

What's the general opinion on Malik Newman? Based on highlight clips he looks pretty good. Is he a point guard or shooting guard? Why did he not even get drafted? Does he have a decent chance to make the Lakers team?

Lonzo (PG)
Hart (SG)
Svi (SG)
Newman (?)
Paul George (SG)...hopefully

Seems a lot better than what the Lakers had last season in the backcourt:

Rookie Lonzo (PG) (did fine)
KCP (SG) (did well)
Clarkson (PG/SG) (yuck)
Rookie Hart (SG) (did great)
Caruso (PG) (eh...)
Ennis (PG) (yuck)
Payton (PG) (yuck)

I can see why they gave him the 2-way contract. Caruso is likely gone

Bryant + Newman will get the 2 way contracts. They are both great in transition

2 way contracts dedicated for not drafted players only. Bryant cannot get 2 way contract.

I could have sworn Bryant had a 2-way contract last season

That’s great though.

I see a little Kemba-lite in him as well.

Let’s be realistic here. He’s an undrafted FA. His floor is “not in the NBA.”

Newman and Svi are Kansas teammates. I’m excited to see them together in summer league.

You can fit Newman in Svi's wingspan!

are we limiting his minutes because of the injury? If that is not the reason, looks like he may lose that 2 Way deal.

Lol this thread is kinda funny. All of this talk about his floor and ceiling, one post like a day after summer league in vegas began.. then nothing until his release.

Meh.

he should have stayed at Kansas another year.....he just got so hot down the stretch of the season, guess he felt he should strike while it seemed his stock was high. Wish him well, hope he is able to work his way back to the league.

A 3 in a 1 body and couldn't show any shot creation, but worse, didn't hit the shots he needed to make.
