We will make the playoffs but we are not a contender.

You do realize we aren’t done making moves right?

That's what I'm afraid of.

If anything, Spurs are the ones most screwed by this. Lakers know they’re not beating GSW this year no matter who they get, now they can just safely keep their guys and wait a year for Kawhi to come.

The offer is Deng and picks after this

You think we are gonna give up the farm for guys like Walker or Beal?

If anyone thinks he's going to come back in January or whenever and just resume being the Boogie Cousins we know, they're delusional. They'll be lucky to even incorporate him, chemistry-wise, by the playoffs, let alone get him back to positive contribution level.

That being said, even if he averages 25/12 for them, it doesn't affect us. Even after Lebron signed yesterday, I didn't see us in the same ballpark as them, with or without Kawhi. I don't even include them in my consideration of the league competition as a whole, that's how far off they are from everybody else right now. I'll be content with a 2nd round appearance, TBH, complete with a wholesome ass-whooping of OKC in the 1st. Am I the only one that remembers we missed the playoffs 5 straight seasons and won the least games or close to it of all teams during that period?? We need to slow our roll and consider just how far we've come in the span of a few days, but also how far we still are from GS. And that's okay.

Hopefully this serves as a reminder to the FO that it makes no sense to rush a trade now when it won't make any difference with the end result of the 2018-2019 NBA season.

The Blazers got Seth Curry for the minimum. That's the kind of deal we should have been making. We spent twice that to get Lance and 3 times that to get Rondo. This is bad GMery any way you slice it.

Lakers just lost any chance of winning it all next season. Boogie even at 70% is far better than McGee or Zaza. He's still a bruiser who shoots the 3 well. And for $5M..? This is ridiculous.

This is why we need Dwight.

Just for one year... let him rehab his reputation... and be in attention whore paradise.

He can stop Achilles Boogie!

How about trading Deng, Zu and 2 1sts for a center with an expiring contract like R. Lopez, Vucevic, or Chandler?

There's only one contender this year

Warriors are the only team for sure in the West that is going to be better than the Lakers. Rockets lost Ariza, and come playoff time, Lakers would have the best player in the series with better depth than the Rockets with the Lakers young players getting even better. I am not afraid of literally any other team in the West outside of the Warriors when you have the best player in the league on your team.

LeBron is the easiest person in the NBA to build around. Plus he and magic are renowned recruiters, yet we can't build a team around him at all even with cap space. Rondo? Stephensen? No Center. And Kawhi is pretty much pointless now because w this Frankenstein team we can't get passed the warriors anyway.

I bet Rondo has more impact on this season than Seth Curry.

Agreed. The Stephenson signing is just putrid. I hope he's cut by December and the Lakers can pick up a non-scumbag who can actually shoot or defend.

To all NBA fans who are pissed off right now, I can tell you this: Many players are even more upset than you.

Spurs are in a no win situation. They should trade Leonard to the Lakers and all the NBA free agents should sign one year min deals with the Lakers to beat GS.
