Thank you.

I am even crazy enough to maybe play him a bit early and see if he can contribute anything!

before reading your post, my initial reaction to seeing the OP was "why is Deng there without an asterisk?".... He stuck out like a sore thumb, he's the first name I noticed in the post.

Dont worry Melo will help with the balance when he comes after being bought out by OKC.

I would probably start Kuzma ahead of Ingram to get him as many minutes with LBJ as possible, but I am listing Ingram as the starter for now.

unless Ingram triples his three point attempts, Kuzma will almost certainly be a better fit with LeBron in the starting lineup. The problem with that, though, is that the second unit needs Kuzma's shooting even more than the first unit does! Rondo and Stevenson on the same unit pretty much necessitates the presence of a stretch big.

We desperately need Ingram to be a real 3 point shooter this season.

Judging from last year, I think Mcgee and Zu get a few minutes each half..most of the time we will have a small lineup:

PG - lonzo/rondo
SG - KCP/hart
SF - ingram/stephenson/hart
PF - kuz/lebron/ingram
C - lebron/wagner/kuz

Not that I agree with this but Luke loves going small even when we have capable bigs.

We are not getting Melo.

No way he takes a buy out

It's much better than last season so I'm content. I don't expect us to go from 35 to 60 wins in 1 season.

Could it be better? Sure

But so could all these posts.

Maybe they're expecting Lebron to create another JJ Hickson or Birdman at the 5. Remember three years ago when everyone was trying to justify Moz's deal by pointing to his gaudy PnR efficiency numbers? Well...

I think we close games most nights with Lebron at 5, and that's even if we re-sign Brook.

Rondo was told the better player will start. It's an open competition.
So I don't think Rondo will be coming off the bench.

Lonzo is coming off of injury. But if he does surpass Rondo, that's a good problem to have.

Since when does Luke always start the better player? He's big on "fit". Rondo and Lebron potentially butting heads on the direction of the offense I can see as something to be avoided.

Such a different feeling from reading last year’s depth chart.

C - blah blah blah
PF - Lebron motherbleeping James blah blah
SF -blah blah blah
SG - blah blah blah
PG - blah blah blah

First thought looking at those above rosters.

1- No Anthony please. IMO a net negative.

2- Big question at center. Do they add Lopez or other? Are they sticking with the current committee of three.? James is not playing C for any significant amount of time. Defensively it would be a foolish match problem.

3- most important question of all. Pace? Will the Lakers still try to push the ball and run a fast paced sharing offense? Or will it be more of a vet friendly slow it down iso game?

Will the young players be allowed to thrive or will they be relegated to "a sit in a corner and watch us vets show you how its done" type of game.? Will James be able to keep his mpg down, close to (under) 30mpg?

Everyone said the same thing about CP3 and Harden going into last offseason too.
Rondo is the better shooter. Lebron needs the floor spacing.

That's either a cheapshot at Lonzo, or you're making a joke.

Fam, it's the truth. Here are the FG%/3p%/FT% splits for both:

Rondo- career - 46/30.9/60
Rondo- last year - 46/33/54
Lonzo- 36/30.5/45

It's the same story if you look at eFG% and TS%.

If Lonzo becomes the better player or the better shooter. That's a good problem to have. Sure start him. But we are in "win now" mode according to the FO.

I feel like we should just pencil in Richard Jefferson and/or Channing Frye somewhere on that chart, because seriously, how could one or both of them not be with the Lakers next year?

I love this signing not because I'm a big fan of Rondo but because it will create competition for Ball to earn his playing time.

And in the overall picture the Lakers have two viable PGs to run the team, get assists and play solid defense. Both have shown flashes of being able to hit open catch and shoot 3's too. They are likely to get plenty of opportunities to make them. They just need to deliver.

You said "floor spacing " so why are you using FG%, and (my god) FT%?

Anyway, are you seriously expecting Lonzo not to improve his 3-pt shooting to where he's not even more of a threat than friggin' Rondo?
