With all eyes on Lebron and players he can pass to when he does his thing, especially with Kuzma and Ingram on the floor with Lonzo’s improved shot, I’d say we have a good amount of offense.

a good amount of offense won't get it done against the Warriors though (or the Rockets for that matter - but I could see us beating them in a 7 game set if things go our way)

Who ends games?
Well the entirety depends on the score, for instance if the Lakers are losing in a blowout:
C : Zubac
PF: Wagner
SF: Deng
SG: Machalik
PG: Hart

Hmm. Unless we get a better C, I think LeBron would play the 5. Gotta add BI. I'm really not sure about the rest, probably Kuz at 4, and 2 out of Rondo/Hart/Zo/KCP, depending on who is playing the best ball next year.

My guess would be:

KCP guarding Klay
BI guarding Green
Koozy guarding Iggy
Lebron guarding KD

Bron wants no piece of KD. hell "guard" Green, Ingram is our KD stopper (mostly remember him playing good D on KD)

Our 3 best players so ideally you want them playing as long as possible and for stretches together, too.
Can it work?
Kuzma fits with LeBron really well, no problem there. Kuzma should feast with LeBron. Ingram however doesnt seem to be a natural fit.
Can if work offensively? Sure, LeBron is the PG anyway but still Ingram likes to handle the ball, sometimes even too much and is more of a mid range player than a 3pt shooter even though he's been improving it steadily for a good while now and hope is he continues the progress.

What about defense though? Can Ingram chase SG's around?

Is the line up with all 3 something we should aspire for or should Ingram be used more like a 6th man and the leader of the bench unit? Even though even when he's on the floor, one of Kuzma or LeBron should always be on the floor as well.

depends if Boogie closes games or not. if its Draymond at center, then Ball/Rondo, KCP/Hart/Lance, Ingram, Kuzma, James.

I can’t believe you have Stephenson in there as even an option in the final minutes. No way he closes games unless multiple guys (like two or three ) are injured/suspended.

Other than that, I agree with everything else.

To me, barring matchups, it’s a given that Ingram, James, and Kuzma will finish most games in the frontcourt. The other two spots are open season between Pope, Rondo, Hart, and Ball. Two of any combination of of those four guys can EASILY get the call — love the competition and mix of young and old there.

Also, I asked this question to highlight Ingram, James, and Kuzma as the three main guys in the frontcourt. Amidst all of this talk of desperately needing a Center, it’s clear to me that those three will play together in the frontcourt a whole helluva lot.

The Lakers will be playing small y’all.

McGee or Zubac will start games, but Kuzma, Ingram, James, and Deng will all be seen guarding the tallest player on the opposing team quite a bit.

Funny that if D’Antoni were the coach and he played Kuzma at Center, people would call him a genius, but Magic and Walton and Pelinka going this route and it’s controversial and debatable — it’s not. Not in “today’s NBA” ... not by a longshot.

Get used to Kuzma, Ingram, and James closing games in the frontcourt y’all. It’s clearly the best way to go right now. People think this team will have a hard time scoring — they won’t. And they won’t get murdered on defense either. The game is changing.

If Philadelphia can run-off 15 games in a row with Ilyasova at Center, the Lakers can damn sure do it with Kuzma.

If I had to bet on opening night depth chart right now....with the current players and adding only Lopez.

Rondo/Ball
KCP/Hart/Svi
Ingram/Stephenson
Lebron/Kuzma/Deng
Lopez/Zubac/McGee/Wagner (G League)

My guess at a crunch time death lineup (assuming we don’t have to guard an Anthony Davis or some other big) would be

Lebron
Kuzma
Ingram
KCP/Hart (I think they’ll both be good)
Rondo

If we need a stop, it’d be

Lebron
Ingram
Hart
KCP
Rondo

If I needed a stop, I’m probably putting Ball in over Rondo. At this point, Ball is the more versatile defender.

I would agree with that....they are about the same on the ball....but Lonzo is a better team defender and is much more versatile in a switching defense.

People really think Rondo is going to start over Lonzo? Only way I see that happening is if Ball is not 100% healthy. Is that what people are predicting?

As it stands, this is how I see the rotations:

Ball/Rondo
KCP/Hart/Stephenson/Svi
Lebron/Ingram/Stephenson
Kuzma/Lebron
McGee/Zubac/Wagner

So either LBJ wants the ball in his hands less this season for longevity reasons, or Ball is getting traded.

If ball does not get traded I actually think he could have good chemistry with the second unit.
