well now that significant part of our youth is gone (dlo, clarkson, nance, randle) and now that some time has passed, what do think is the ceilings (player comparisons) of our 4 youngsters?

My guesses:

Ingram - ironically i think PG13 or 80% of greek freak
Ball - Kidd (less scoring), Rondo with a shot
Kuzma - drawing a blank here...
Hart - george hill, possibly lowry with less scoring?

Ingram - DeMar DeRozan with defense
Ball - Draymond Green with slightly better scoring, lesser defense
Kuzma - Lesser version of Kobe
Hart - Danny Green

Ingram - Giannis (he's going to reach it too)
Ball - Something between Kidd and Rubio
Kuzma - I'm confused about Kuzma...sometimes I think Denver Carmelo and sometimes Rashard Lewis
Hart - Gary Harris with rebounding

Ingram = mix between Scottie Pippen (point forward/defense) and Kawhi Leonard (scorer/defense), but taller
Ball = a taller Jason Kidd i guess? hes pretty unique if he can develop some scoring skills and get his shot to fall
Hart = your standard 3 and D role player. very useful off the bench on a contender
Kuzma = i cant think of a player at his position to compare him to. allstar caliber Robert Horry with better ball handling?

Ingram - Future All Star. Can be as good as Kawhi.
Kuzma - Future All Star. Jason Tatum type. Very good offensively. Defense can be good as well.
Ball - Future All Star. Jason Kidd clone. A little more athletic.
Hart - Solid 2-way player. Consistent starter for years. Could make 1-2 All Star teams.

Hopefully this group grows a lot this year like Jaylon Brown and Tatum did. These guys are solid NBA players.

Ingram-Better scoring Tayshaun Prince. I would say Kawhi or Scottie but we'll see how his shooting comes along (Kawhi) and how his body comes along (Scottie)

Ball: Rondo but with a better 3 point shot. Pretty excited for Rondo to put him under his wing this year.

Kuzma: Antawn Jamison/Rashard Lewis/Melo type. Instant buckets!!

Hart: Danny Green who can actually make layups

Dlo - 0 assist PG, and no basketball IQ
Clarkson - no Bb IQ, personal stats priority instead of team
Randle - good hustle guy, nothing special
Nance - good defence player

Back to the thread:

Hart - Ron Harper
Kuzma - Something between Glen Rice, Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant
Ingram - dunno, lets go for KD as ppl say
Ball - Magic

Well, since you dredged up this dead horse, was there any talk in Brooklyn of a DLO extension?

B.I. -- 5 -10 time all star. Some mix of Giannis, Prince, and George.
Hart -- big solid SG who does everything right + you can count on in any sitch
Zo -- pg version of Draymond Green. multiple time all star
Kuz -- 3 - 10 time all star when plays like Melo/Jamison/Lewis but is clutch

I like the Harris jr. and Lewis comparisons for Hart and Kuz. With Kuz and Zo it's "who the (bleep) knows", though.

I'm not sure about an NBA player comparison for our guys but I think their stat ceilings are:

BI: 24pts - 7rebs - 5ast
Kuz: 22pts - 7rebs - 3ast
Hart: 14pts - 6rebs - 6ast
Lonzo: 19pts - 10rebs - 12ast

I even find something like this to be tough because there are so many different paths for these guys to follow. Who knows what happens to their stat lines if Kawhi and LeBron (and even a 3rd star like Lillard for example) end up all playing together? So tough to project but I think Lonzo and BI have the highest ceilings. BI's ceiling is probably the highest but I think Lonzo has the highest realistically attainable ceiling. He's only a slight shooting increase (~5%) from 3 from being a 14-15ppg guy already.

I'd agree for most of this, but I see Zo peaking at 15 ppg

Lonzo Ball- Jason Kidd who finds his jumpshot much earlier

Brandon Ingram- Tracy MgGrady that gives a (bleep).

Kyle Kuzma- Power Forward Klay Thompson with less defense

Hart- Smaller Danny Green

Ivica Zubac- Shaq but better (and maybe a little bit of Prime Wilt mixed in)

I think I'm just really bullish on Lonzo finding his shot again. I think he's more of the midseason shooter/UCLA shooter we saw than the one who couldn't make a FT or hit the rim on a 3 at times. If we look at the future of the team with Bron and other max guys around him then you're probably right. He probably never reaches 18ish a game because of opportunity. He's just such a rare talent and prospect. His career path more than any of the others of the young core is the most difficult to project, I think.

They're all going to be great players. My only concern is how we're going to afford to re-sign them all in 2-3 years with Lebron and another Max player next Summer.

I think we'll definitely have to let one or two of BI, Zo, or Kuz go once their Rookie contracts are up. But until then, it's gonna be fuuuuun. And I think we win at least one ring.
