Nice. The decision to come to America seems to have been a wise one.

I'm guessing they didn't give KCP 12 mil to bury him on the depth chart.

Hey guys -

I’m a KU grad and been in LA for about 15 years. Had to register here to chat about Svi, who was an absolute fan favorite at KU.

It’s been so fun watching him pick up right where he left off in the tournament.

I remember when Josh Jackson was coming in and a sure-fire one and done lottery pick. We all kept saying “uh... Svi is a junior and YOUNGER than Josh.”

Basically, this kid got one of the best college coaches in the country as his JV and varsity HS coach. Then played for two years and bounced to the league.

When he was coming in, people were calling him a phenom for his height and shooting. It took him a couple years to adjust to the competition and get his confidence, but man he has it now.

Really hoping he can get some rotation time, but he absolutely MURDERS the corner three. Having watched Cavs shooters consistently brick them in the Finals after LBJ created he shot for them out of thin air, I am hoping he values that kind of shooting.

Anyway, always happy when I get to watch a Jayhawk on my home town team, as the Kings left KC when I was a kid and was a man without a country.

Glad to see he signed. His play in Summer League has been very, very promising. I'm reserving judgment since it's "just summer league" but Kuzma tore it up last year and he worked out good. The shooting form this kid has is amazing. Could be a day 1 contributor.

His confidence impresses me also whilst off the court he seems really low key and humble.

Deng was given $18 mill per for 4 years to not even play.

That was this administrations response to the past administration. KCP will
not be buried, he'll either start Or be off the bench early.

It's going to be a challenge to balance PT this season, for sure.

Drafted and signed three guys last year, hit on two. Drafted and signed three guys this year, looks promising that they hit on at least two (it's probably 2020 before we know on Bonga).

Will be interested to see how Svi deals with being undersized on the wing defensively. Seems to have some fight in him.

let me help you out meg,

PG-Zo/Rondo(starter if Zo goes down with an injury) /BI

SG-KCP/Josh Hart/ Svi/Lance

SF-BI/LBJ/Kuz/Svi(when bron goes to center)
PF-Lebron James/Kyle Kuzma/BI(if Kuz gets hurt or fouls out)
C-JaVale McGee/Lebron/Ivica Zubac/Mo Wagner

The small ball lineup

PG-Zo(if healthy)
SG-KCP or SVI(if not ready, then lance)
SF-Hart
PF-Kuz for shooting(or BI)
C-Bron

But you guys have to understand something. we have multiple small ball lineups. we have a shooters lineup if SVI is the real deal in the real nba like he seems he is.

PG-Rondo or Zo doesnt matter who
SG-hart
Sf-Svi
PF-BI
C-Bron

2 shooters(svi and hart), 4 ball handlers. 3 solid floor generals in bron, rondo, and BI.
that squad is still athletic enough to run like crazy and defend at a decent clip. rondo hart, BI and bron, is a nightmare defensively. especially if the other team doesnt have a big guy to punish BI at PF.

obviously if you want that to be a shooters lineup

you toss in Kuz and SVI, and MO Wag at center

PG- Zo or Rondo (passer)(athletic)
SG- KCP - Shooter/Athletic
Sf-Svi - shooter
PF-Kuz - shooter
C-Mo Wag - stretch big and mobile

^^not a lot of defense but the offense would be lovely if the shots are falling. we could blow a team out with that lineup vs some other teams bench.

we have a combination of guys where everyone is a ball handler and can pass well

PG-Rondo
SG-Zo(he can score better at this spot off the ball a bit0
Sf-Lance
PF-BI
C-LBJ

All ball handlers, all guys who can pass well. all guys who can attack from anywhere. now, thats a bad shooting lineup. but that lineup will run like crazy, lock you up defensively and cause lots of to's which is a reason to run like crazy. and that team can take you off the dribble to setup others for easier scores since these guys are not shooters per se.

Even with the short wingspan, at 6'8", I wonder if we'll see Svi at the 4 at times with 2nd unit small ball lineups.

A bench line up of Hart, Svi, Kuma, Mo and Zubac would be interesting to see, you have four guys who can shoot it from deep.

Rock Chalk. The other think I'd say about Svi is that he is a very hard worker. You could see his game constantly improve through his four years at KU.

Former KC-Omaha Kings fan too and the move was the reason I hate them so much. I didn't even need Mike Bibby and Sissy Christie. Kills me that Frank is there.

He did it in college a few times but the competition is much tougher at this level. He can guard bigger guys though.

Saphojunkie - welcome to LG! I never watched svi in college, and had no bias coming in, but one good look at how well he gets his shot off tells me he's got a role he can step into right now in the NBA. No glaring weaknesses showing right now.

LeBron needs shooters? Glad to see him signed up.
