Pretty interesting that the Lakers aren’t mentioned even though Melo wants to play with LeBron, either way I would be happy if he goes to Houston and messes up the Rockets chemistry. |
That tells me Bron is not interested playing with him. I guess he know's that Melo will not change who he is as a player. Just a total iso guy that still thinks he's a top player and doesn't play D. |

Just for hypothesis sake: how bad can Deng be as a small ball Center, purely for defensive and rebounding purposes?
For the record, I don't think it could work, but we need a center, he's not going anywhere and we have plenty of forwards.
It's one think that he looks slow vs. quick guards and SFs, but maybe as a center he can do all right?
People were asking for us to sign Mbah a Moute, who's smaller than him, to play center. Jordan Bell is the same size and fills that role for GSW (of course he's obviously more athletic). _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Javel should do it. He will only play like 18 to 20 min a game and players like Lebron, Mo, and maybe Kuz will fill in the rest of the minutes _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

LeBron had nothing to do with Cleveland trading him back to Miami, I read during the trade deadline that he mentioned he had no influence on the Cavs moves, I can give you link if you want. |

That'd be awesome
Only teams that have cap space is the Hawks, Bulls, Kings and Nets, right? How much can each one offer? Kings seem to be getting busy with Marcus Smart, looks like the Nets are on the move for him too. The Bulls just drafted a center and the Hawks have enough bigs too. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Rockets losing Ariza/Moute + adding Melo would be great for our WCF chances.
And I don't even dislike Melo, I just think he's a terrible fit for that team and has a very negative history with MDA. Not gonna work. |
It's not the same MDA. They barely move the ball in Houston. MDA tolerates it because at least they're not putting up dumb midrange 2's and post-ups. |

He tweaked his style, yeah, but his bad blood with Melo certainly endured. This is a guy who's gone on record saying he left the Knicks BECAUSE of Melo. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking too. Then he can be free as an UFA next year. More franchises with cap space + a near 10% cap raise. _________________ www.lakersbrasil.com

He could, but that doesn’t mean he’s not telling the FO to get this guy or that guy, LeBron knows he needs all the tools to end the Warriors run. |

I think Atlanta, Chicago and Sac have 18-21 mill to make a sizable offer to Capela and the Kings are likely going after Smart and Parker. Nets only have 10 mill IIRC.
Come on Chicago and Atlanta |

I don't really see anyone left spending the room exception on other than Wayne Ellington and he should be able to get more than that to re-sign with Miami. There are RFAs of interest but their teams would just match and most of them can make more on the QO.
Seems like they'll just save the room exception to spend on guys who are bought out/waived. |

at least we will finally make the playoffs again not expecting us to be anything more than a 4 seed tbh _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way |

Seems smart. Always good to have that because good players are bought out every year and it helps if you can offer more money _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

With this squad we may just squeeze into the playoffs, but it won't be easy. I see this roster below GSW and HOU and on par with Utah, Portland, New Orleans, Denver, Minnesota and Spurs. So these are 9 teams and one will miss the playoffs. Even Memphis, Clippers and Dallas have an outside chance. |

Yes. They showed Stephenson signing a contract, it can't be for the room exception if they haven't used their remaining balance. So he signed for the 4.4 or whatever million, so we have the similar priced toom exception to use. Hopefully on Len, unless they decide to keep it around to have a leg up on other teams for a cut vet. The LBJ factor should be enough, but being able to more than double most offers makes them a frontrunner for any name. |

I guess it all depends on how big of jumps our young guys make. I could see us finishing as high as 3rd or honestly as low as 6 - not really any lower than that though. I'm pretty confident that we will be better than New Orleans and Denver at the least and doubt that we finish below more than two of the Portland/Utah/OKC/Minny/Spurs bunch. _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way
