Galinari would fit that team quite well, better than Griffin even (if he’s healthy). _________________ A creative scorer, a wing defender, and a shooter. |

Well, if OKC going all out and Spurs is rebuilding, Melo + multiple 1st rd picks for LMA then we'll take Kawhi |

Melo + an small asset for Schroder I think would work for both teams. Gets Atlanta out of that contract and gives OKC some talent while saving about $49m. You could start Schroder next to Westbrook IMO. |
I was under the impression that OKC was trying to get out from the money (tax) issues. I was a bit surprised that they would trade him. |
Presumably, the Thunder would give up draft picks and/or young player(s) to a team with cap space to take Melo's contract. That team would then negotiate the buyout. I agree they're probably not interested in taking back bad contracts, especially for most of the players on that list. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Quote: | The Los Angeles Lakers have been widely mentioned as a chief rival to the Rockets once Anthony actually becomes a free agent, largely because the Lakers' new face of the franchise is Melo's close friend LeBron James. But it's been suggested to me — strongly — that the Lakers' interest is overstated. |

Rob said they want players with high IQ, toughness, defense and the ability to play fast. So...that's 4 strikes. Pretty sure Carmelo's out. |

Carmelo with Lebron is a much different equation than Carmelo with Westbrook. The latter leaves Carmelo as the 2nd or 3rd option on all plays. The former means if he's open, he's the #1 option.
I could see a big difference vs last year pretty easily, even if Carmelo genuinely isn't the player he was a few years ago. That's what Lebron does. If Kawhi isn't happening I'd take a chance there. Worst case is he ends up spending most the year riding the pine while Ingram and Kuzma get the shots. |

Rob also let the guy go that encompassed all of those things because he didn't want to give him a second year. While at the same time committing money to Javale McGee, and Lance Stephenson...
What Rob is looking for is cheap, hopefully productive one-year options to keep the space next offseason.
If Carmelo offers that, you can be sure that they will pursue him, regardless of what they're saying. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Let it go. If Randle really wanted to be a Laker and accepted the new role for himself this season he'd have taken the QO or a bigger 1 year deal. His agent is douche and steered him towards leaving.
We are not going after Melo. |

Quote: | Oklahoma City has agreed to trade Carmelo Anthony and a protected 2022 first-round pick to Atlanta for point guard Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala, league sources tell ESPN. Anthony will be waived, and he will join team of his choice. Rockets are frontrunner. |
