he'd be going into his SENIOR year in college, since he came out after his freshman year and has spent two years in the league. |

I don't see any bust in his game whatsoever unless he gets injured or doesn't improve.
He is a proven hard worker and has continually improved his game so I don't know where you see bust. Explain? |
He’s no bust but he’s far from a proven hard worker IMO. That’s just a term people use to prop up or put down players they like or don’t like. We don’t know these kids workout habits. He needs to work on his body more so than anybody in the young core and I’d argue he’s made the least progress in that sense(at least to this point).
With that said, he’s proven his floor is a rotational player on a good team. |
We actually do know BIs workout habits and he’s a proven hard worker and gym rat |
Yeah, when a guy is literally locked out of the gym because he's working TOO hard... I'd say the kid is a hard worker. Pretty sure GT has verified he's a work horse iirc? |
He's working with two different trainers this year. Strength and skills training. Magic/Pelinka have said he's a hard worker. So has Luke. So has his teammates. Based on what we actually have to go by, he's a hard worker.
This "we don't actually know" spin can apply to virtually anyone we don't know personally so that's a ridiculous take. |
Yes it does apply to almost all athletes because the information is generally not made public. Our FO says that about everybody. My point is simply that you can’t say he’s a hard worker so we shouldn’t trade him. We don’t know that and the fact he’s working with independent trainers instead of at the team facilities doesn’t prove he works harder or less hard than anybody else on the roster. It’s just something that fans use to prop up their favorites and put down the ones they don’t like as much. |
Quote: | Brandon was just a beast the way he worked this offseason…The way he was working in the weight room and on the court, he’s a leader. He definitely has that Magic Johnson Kobe Bryant mentality about him where if he sees you in his way he’s going to find a way through you. |
Rob Pelinka
Quote: | “The guy only cares about winning and basketball,” Johnson said. “He’s quiet and doesn’t do anything else. He is a very intelligent young man and is our hardest worker.” |
Magic Johnson
Quote: | “When you have that type of work ethic and you can play basketball the way he can,” Lakers coach Luke Walton said, “he’s going to continue to get better and better at different things.”
|
Luke Walton
It's one thing for Magic Johnson to compliment Ingram's work ethic, it's another thing for him to straight up say "Yep, that guy is our hardest worker". |
Didn’t he say that last off-season? Regardless, it’s PR for the most part. I’m not saying he’s lazy by any means but I don’t think he’s an outlier as far as how hard he works. |
Actually your first post in this exchange said " he’s far from a proven hard worker". That's patently false. The people who would know say he's the hardest worker on the team. He is a proven hard worker.
Yet when the proof is presented to you, instead of gracefully taking an L and admitting that you were wrong, you brush it off as PR.
Your posts on this page are some of the dumbest posts in this thread, which is saying something, because this thread is full of dumb posts. Congratulations. |

Wow. Ingram is a hard worker. Didn’t think that was a point of contention. I thought the question was where would his body cap out once filled in and would that be good enough for him to be a borderline all star, an all star, superstar? |

Putting in the work and being the hardest worker on the team are very different things. I’d like to see him build up his body more before I anoint him with that title. I’d guess Hart is the hardest worker based off of overall improvement both skill wise and physically but that’s just a guess, just like it is when people say that about Ingram. |

Only 20 and BI is looking better than a year ago. I see his upside as being a James Worthy type who can also shoot the 3 and be a play-maker. |

Technically he’s a year young for his class, so he would be a Jr in college by age. Remember he’s the same age as Lonzo and a year younger than the #1 pick from his own draft class. |

You do realize this is BASKETBALL and not body building right. When they train in the weight room it isn't for aesthetics/to get big |
On top of that, if a player puts too much weight and muscles too quickly, he may have problems with knees, ankles and feet, who are not ready for the extra effort right away. That's what happened to Ben Simmons. _________________ .... |

The Lakers played like a 47-win team when Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope were all on the floor last season, per @NBA_Math's FATS Calculator. https://nbamath.com/fats-calculator/ …

So we add the #1 player in the NBA to this. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Just thought I wanted to add this.
All the drama surrounding Lonzo (or Lonzo's camp), has made me appreciate Ingram more.
Dude is a true professional. He has been the rumoured centerpiece for a Kawhi trade for like forever, yet we hardly ever hear of any drama from him. He has largely kept a low profile since the season ended. That's pretty hard to do, especially if one doesn't even know whether he starts the season with the same team.
I know I would probably whine about it if I were in his shoes, even if it is just through anonymous leaks given to the media.

Yeah. Have begun to appreciate BI more. Will be a nice sidekick to LBJ this season. Probably 2nd leading scorer (close with Kuz). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Some people have body types genetically predisposed to have more muscle mass. If you ever played any type of sports or have been an athlete at any point in your life, you would actually know this.
Goldenthroat was actually in the Lakers practice facility on TV, so I'll take my bets with him saying he's one of the hardest workers as he is privy to much more first hand knowledge and other people's accounts than you or I. |

Yes, there is a good chance he lands in the vast middle of the two. Even if he does turn out to be Prince that puts him closer to the HOF than a bust. |
He's already better than Tayshaun. |
That is such a ridiculous statement it barely deserves a reply. Might as well post that you have no idea who Tayshaun Prince is. Because Ingram is nowhere close to a Finals, all defensive and Team USA player. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I don't think many of todays posters we're around for the early 2000's pistons and saw how good Tayshaun was in his day. He could lock up Kobe at times (well not by himself but still). |
