something not mentioned enough due to all the attention his poor shooting brought in last season... his lack of ability to be a threat to drive the ball and be a threat to score off the dribble in the paint and close midrange. Even if he becomes a decent outside shooter if he doesnt master the whole taking it off the dribble, defenders will figure him out and make his playmaking abilities less effective. He would essentially be a rich man's Steve Blake.

that Zo brand of quiet leadership- i don't follow ALL the lakers on IG
but im glad to see Zo post Instagram work/out vidz since LBJ is doing it daily

i know BI had some vids up in the past as well.

i get how embedded social media is in life esp younger folks hoping to see young Lakers mature up in this arena as well.. all the silly comments on IG aren't necessary all the time

If he is still recovering from the torn meniscus then I assume that seriously impacts his ability to work on his lower body?

i thought about that too. the bright side is, if this is true he can easily work on his freethrows. and I'm not joking. just hangout at the ft line all day every day, shooting.

True - I noticed when he shoots his free throws, he has no rhythm. Some times he takes them quickly and other times he doesn't. He might be one of those players that needs some sort of ritual. Didn't Jeff Hornacek always put his hand on his cheek. I think Jason Kidd used to blow a kiss. He doesn't need to be weird about it but I think he needs a consistent rhythm.

Never mind rhythm, he doesn't even release his free throws from the same point that he does his normal shot. Might as well be shooting his free throws with his left hand.

Hence why Rondo was a great signing. If he goes down, we need another PG though and I don't want Caruso taking those minutes despite how well he plays in Summer League. Love his competitiveness and fire though.

Yeah I am totally okay with the Rondo signing - if it were up to me I would not have Caruso on the roster at all (2 way or otherwise) as well.

Agreed - I was thinking rhythm but I think its about rhythm and consistency of mechanics.

Wasn't that Lonzo injury story around the draft confirmed to be parroting old information?

Yes.

Woj retracted his report that Zo was getting the surgery.

Listening back to pod discussion on Lonzo Ball's knee injury, I misspoke: What I planned to say was that he may require surgery, not that he requires it.
Adrian Wojnarowski
@wojespn

July 4th with ESPN’s @BobbyMarks42 on LeBron James, Spurs marketplace for Kawhi Leonard, DeMarcus Cousins, Lakers, Luke Walton and what’s left in free agency. The Woj Pod:

The injury has been around since April, anyone who actually followed the Lakers knew Zo didn't play the last week or so of the season because of that injury. He also got injection treatments in June which were widely reported.
Ramona threw out a trolljob anyways and the sports media and Laker Nation completely sucked it up and began citing it as fact, pointing fingers at Lavar for hits & giggles, then went further and said Magic had to sit him down again. All fake news.

Personally, I'm more concerned with the fact that the Lakers season ended 3 months ago.
If Lonzo needed surgery, they should have done it already.
3 months and they're STILL deciding if he needs surgery or not? A meniscus surgery is somewhat minor, but it can still take 6-10 weeks to fully recover from. The more time wasted, the less time he has to recover and start rebuilding strength.

The fact that this is still ongoing seems to point to more FUBAR's from Lavar

We really don't know if he had it or not. Mid June was when he got back on the court, so he could have had it in April and just started some on court work in June. PRP injections don't keep you off the court more than a month. Bynum got one once during the all star break and was back in a week. Westboro got one at the beginning of camp last season and was back within a week or 2.

We don't know what happened, just a bunch of people here making stuff up

Pelinka, in his interview just a few days ago, said Lonzo "MAY" have to have surgery on it

No he didn't. He said ask his team about injury questions.

LakersNation 07/12/2018

"Lakers Uncertain If Lonzo Ball Will Require Knee Surgery But Expectation Remains He Will Be Healthy For Training Camp"

So, Rob didn't say that and Lakers nation went off Woj and Ramona reports. Anything credible?

nope. made for good clickbait though.

Oh man. That's from March. I think that's how he hurt his knee more.
But I meant a more recent vid of his leg presses heh.

You see Pelinka has a law background and is trying to use HIPPA as excuse, because no one will argue it..lol. Im sure he used HIPPA with Ramona and she ran with it..lol. I expect more of that during the year

But I have never seen any injury information on ANY player never been spoken about or claims that we cannot talk about it. Very strange

even Pop never said "can't talk about Kawhi's injury"

When Kobe busted his Achilles, the report was out the next day and that was during the summer

Wagner got hurt in summer league and we already had an injury report and plans.

Josh hard had a metacarpal fracture this year and it was released

Channing Frye had appendicitis! and we had reports,

look at all these injury reports during the year from the Lakers

lakers just dont want to talk about it. Rather than THEY CANT talk about it

1. KOBE injured himself during the season...thus it was required for that to be out. Teams are not required to update injury reports during the off season.

2. LET

3. IT

4. GO

Finally some truth.
He'll have 2 1/2 months to recover.
