If the Lakers jersey here didn't go back to the old number style with the drop shadow, then you have a point, but I cannot recall other teams having numbers with drop shadows. Those almost feel synonymous with a Lakers jersey, almost like pinstripes with a Yankees uniform. |
Yeah that's the one I meant. You're right though, it still has its own lakers thing going for it, but the cavs looks is quite similar

That same concept design is popping up all over the place. I like them a lot but the original tweet on Page 1 of this thread said there would only be a "slight change, nothing crazy". I think those would qualify as major changes.

It doesn't work that way. Nike is the vendor; the teams are the clients, and the client is king. An outfitter like Nike or Adidas can make suggestions and can call the shots on certain things, like fabrics, but the individual teams get the final say regarding their uniform designs.
I've seen lots of the new designs floating around on the internet. Why haven't you written about them?
The anticipation for the new uniforms has led some fans to create their own Photoshopped mock-ups of how they think the new designs could (or should) look. They post their creations to social media, where they begin circulating, and some people then mistakenly end up thinking the fan-created designs are the real thing. In some cases, jersey counterfeiters have even created real jerseys from these fan concepts and offered them for sale, creating additional confusion.
What's this I'm hearing about home jerseys not being white anymore?
In conjunction with the changeover to Nike, standard home and road uniform designations are being scrapped. Each team will now have at least four uniform "editions," as follows:

Not sure if they ever replied to you but I got an email this afternoon. They stated that I would be receiving the NEW jersey if changes were to be made but that was all they could say at this time. |

It does look darker. Could be the lighting or the tone of color on computerized concept. Nonetheless, still a better shade than the highlighter yellow. |

July 30th is supposed to be the day the new designs are revealed. No idea when they'll be in stores.

I think the new jerseys are going to be pretty much the same as the current but with a color correction and the new back (shoulder area is more exposed).
I don't think we're getting any 80's styling. |
