I thought he received a two way from the Lakers earlier. |
Waived him this past week. Wear has the Lakers' second two-way gig now. |

Yeah a few days ago. He was hurt for most of summer league and maybe wasn't 100% but performance was definitely underwhelming. |

I think there were some more problems for Malik Newman than just the injury. Shortly before he was waived he tweeted out "Thank you God" or something along those lines. I tried to find it but it's been deleted. |

How many two-way contracts do they have? I thought there was a maximum of two.
Edit: OK, caught up on the thread. Newman waived. |

I'm happy to have him back. Hopefully he plays well in limited minutes this year and becomes a cheap, long-term piece. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. I thought so too. He was fine as long as he was open and could set his feet but if you ran at him and forced him off his spot he'd miss. Based on what I saw in SPL, Svi is already ahead of him in that regard.
With all the wing players we picked up this summer this is a curious signing. I would have preferred a quick change of pace ballhandler/scorer or an athletic big man project. |
Amazing how much can change in 4 months. In March when I posted this we had no NBA quality 3's with Ingram and Hart down, having just let Brewer chase his title dreams with OKC. I was skeptical about Wear but he pleasantly surprised me. I agree on SVI - I really like this guy and hope he sees some rotation time. I think Travis is still a good 2 way contract, much better than Newman. With our current lineup I think the odds Travis gets a call up to the Lakers are a wee bit slim. |

kind of out of nowhere.....but I do not mind the move. If we are keeping Caruso on a 2 Way, it is probably better to go with a bigger guy with the other one. So it appears Berry, Carroll and Williams were given contracts purely for the ability to assign them to SB. |

I swear every time I see the name Travis on this board, I, for a very brief moment, have Travis Knight flashbacks. He had great spirit though...amirite? |

Happy to have him back. Surfer-looking at the end of bench should be mandatory for coast-based teams. |

Travis could well be the best pure shooter on this roster. |

Mo Wagner fits the surfer-looking dude role for this team exceptionally well. Travis is good insurance though. |

Maybe “pure shooter” means someone who can’t do anything else besides shoot. |

Lakers have a small (Alex Caruso) and a big (Travis Wear) on two way contracts they can call up in case of injuries. Good planning. _________________ Keep winning! |

Every great team in history has had a surfer looking dude. Madsen, Korver, vujacic, Steve Kerr (coach and player), even dating back to rambis |
