If you're picking between both in a vacuum, it's KD.

When you factor weakening GSW in the process, it's a no brainer.

Kawhi Leonard, easy. When he's healthy, he's the better player for me.
KD is a bad bad man, but Kawhi's overall effect on a basketball team....when he's on the court playing ofcourse, is amazing.

close, KD because it weakens GS

in a vacuum, kawhi. ideally, KD would move east to a team thats not Boston or the Sixers. then, we would get kawhi

kawhi would be 28 going on 32 on a 4 year contract. Durant would be 31 going on 35 on a 4 year contract.

looking at kawhi's year to year improvements, he was still improving right before this injured season. with his work ethic/obsessiveness, its not crazy to think he added/will add to his game based on his still upward rate of improvement.

Many Lakers fans hated James. Will it be the same reason that they hate KD joining?

how about Durant and ask KL to opt in and then traded to lakers?

Lakers can trade Ball for KL with filler.

Sign Rondo for discount or James can plays the point.

Durant, but I don't see him coming here. He's trying to pass Lebron up and he'd still get crap for following Lebron to LA. I think he's going to the Knicks.

Trying to pass LeBron up, so he joins a franchise that's been a perennial laughing stock for nearly the last two decades?

I don't think anyone can try to guess what motivates Durant. Who is to say that he cares about whether or not he passes LeBron? He'll probably tie LeBron next season.

Lebron came to LA, Durant going to the Knicks would be the same thing. They have Porzingis/Knox/another lotto pick after this season, they have a foundation. The real problem is Dolan, I'm guessing NBA players don't like him. Not sure how Durant looks past that.

All we can do is try to guess what motivates players. Based on the backlash Durant has faced and how insecure he is, I don't think it's far fetched to envision a scenario where Durant leaves GW (for the Knicks or another team). He'll never be accepted as a "true" Warriors by the fans and his accomplishments will always be discredited and Durant leaving and winning titles elsewhere is the only way to change the perception of his career (both things he's shown he cares about based on his social media exploits). He goes to the Knicks and he's the savior and universally loved and if he wins a title? Legend.

/end of reckless speculation

Slight tangent to the original question...would you rather have:

Scenario A)

-Lakers Sign Kawhi
-Durant Signs Somewhere that isn't GSW(financial reasons)

Scenario B)

-Lakers Sign Durant

Kawhi. KD is soft, and I want him on the Warriors when we end their dynasty.

A. and Durant goes East.

And we keep the same exact team as this year just replace Kawhi over KCP.

Because ...... ummm ........ because .......... ummmmm!! I don't like him!!

We should bring back Medvedenko, I hear he has improved a lot!!!!

I've been around the NBA alot and let me tell you, Wade sucked, Jordan sucked, Hakeem sucked, Lebron sucks, Durant sucks, Kawhi sucks, Bird sucked!! Magic sucked/s!! THE ONLY player with any skill what so ever was Kobe and nobody will ever feed our souls again!!!!

I think that is the logic that says no to Durant. I would take either player and be thrilled, however, I agree with the comment that signing Durant would make our top competition worse off. That by itself gives signing Durant a huge edge over signing Kawhi. Still, either one of those guys and we are one of the best two teams in the league.

First off, this is one scary lineup:

Lonzo
Ingram
Kuz
Lebron
Kawhi or Durant

Sounds awesome, if that team could handle all the centers around the league, which I think it could. Durant and Ingram in the same lineup would give us such length.

Everyone is talking about Durant going to New York yet their owner sucks. He has pulled so many boners, who the hell would want to play for him.

Look at the difference it makes on a team when it has good ownership and management!! The Lakers under Jim, became the laughing stock of the league. NOBODY wanted to play for that guy, and no offence to Mitch, but he didn't help himself much either.

With Magic and Rob, the team has much better PR and we have become relevant again. It did not take long. What Dolan needs to do is back out and hire some really good management and let them run the show. I don't really see that happening though. It's hard to keep your fingers out of the pot, when there is that much money riding on it.

I think we have a decent shot at Durant if he is looking to move on. Not sure why he would though. Unless he is tired of seeing all those needles and human feces on the streets of san francisco?

I despise KD almost as much as I despise Draymond, but you have to pick him all day long if that were actually a decision that we could make.
