It should be in game action play not a celebration pose so 3,4,6 are out. They won't put Dwight on a statue so 5 is out. Out of those options 1 or 2 are realistic. Since Shaq already has a dunk statue they won't do a second dunk statue so#2 wins by default.

This. The defining thing about Kobe's legacy is overcoming obstacles and doubters to win. This will capture it in bronze for eternity. When little kids see it in the future, their parents can tell them that above all, Kobe was a world champion and an inspiration for the rest of us.

If he were young Kobe, I thought that 2 footed dunk on image 1 is pretty Frobe-esque.

If he were older Kobe, I think the fadeaway is nice.

But if we could get a mobile statue, then I'd want a Kobe doing 13 pump fakes in a row before hitting a jumper.

5! Two important Laker emotions at one time that will be immortalized. The Laker love for Kobe and his unmatched skill and the Laker hate for Howard.

First choice is #4, second choice is #6. I definitely want #24 on the statue.

I'd never seen this clip of Bird discussing both Kobe and Lebron before. Good stuff:

the statue should have a bunch of kobes since he has multiple jerseys retired.
one shooting a crazy three.
one dunking on people.
one for fadeaway.

I don't have a gif, but I like the fake right hand layup, then reverse left hand layup a la Jordan in game 7.

If Kobe were a Celtic I could imagine that organization using image 5.

Kobe's statue is going to represent the dualistic nature of his career, so I predict he will have not one but two statues, or two Kobes that either morph or un-morph. The underlying theme of his career has been represented by the one constant in nature...change. I see half Mamba scowl and half Frobe. I see the right hand tearing the jersey away after the Phoenix dagger shot, combined with the kinetic energy of the San Antonio putback shot. Something like that.
Two Kobes.Two statues.

Kobe, and his story is almost too complex to be captured in one statue.

I mean as #8 he had countless moments of pure athleticism and grace that is statue worthy

Then as #24 he completely mastered his craft, textbook technique and footwork

Then you had him nailing those 2 free throws, stone faced after a torn achilles that just epitomized his character.

Then that one last moment of magic when he dropped 60 with a broken body because the whole world was watching and he wanted to put on just one more show.

But if you were to choose 1, #6 is my choice. Kobe was ALL about winning and that #5 that put him 1 above Shaq, was the ultimate vindication for Kobe. And if you were to ask the man himself about his greatest basketball moment, I think that moment in 2010 is what he would have chosen.
