If anyone should feel slighted, it's the young core. Obviously the national take on them is that they are not as good as Laker fans tout them to be.

The national take isn’t as biased as Laker fans.

We know we will be good ESPN is just jealous that we find ways to get back on top

I actually don't like being the underdogs at any point in time.

The Lakers are not just known for winning, we are also known for dominating as a franchise. We want to tell our friends and co-workers that we didn't just win, but won convincingly and we'll do it again next year. That type of cockiness is what Laker fans are known for, because that the standard we hold ourselves to. This is why fans of other teams hate us and we revel in their jealousy.

I don't want to be an underdog, I especially don't want to be in the NBA Finals nine times while only being the favourite twice. I want to win and dominate so bad, starting from the defensive end.

You have to travel the journey. You earn that step by step. You don't just get anointed that for nothing. Enjoy the journey! I think we will win a ring by year 3 of Lebron. I see us making the playoffs this year, possibly even the second round, then signing one more FA next year, with a deep run to follow and a year to work out the kinks. Then we own the league for a couple of years until BI blossoms or we find the next Lebron replacement.

Yeah, it adds to the entertainment. It'll be fun seeing the team surpass the expectations of some of these media people.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title was Andy Kauffman on SNL.

That is certainly debatable, KD and a healthy AD have something to say about that. They both still play defense.

The Cavs last year were only 15-15 against the West. 15-19 counting the finals.

So it's not a given that team makes the playoffs in the West either.

that is just it....you have to be better than the best to take the crown....not just close or even equal. Lebron is the best player in the NBA until someone is clearly better. Ties go to the King.
