Our front office has performed well in recent drafts since the beginning of the rebuild. Still, no team is perfect and there have been some players that have turned out to be really good on the board that we did not select when we had the opportunity. Keep in mind, the player selected must be balanced by removing the player we selected with the closest draft pick before they were selected. Beginning with the 2014 Draft, which player do you most wish the Lakers would have drafted?

I'd say Porzingis. He could become a superstar if he makes a complete recovery, and Russell hasn't improved since his rookie year. Plus Porzingis fills a big need on this team.

I like Ball since he plays defense and rebounds at an important position.

However, I wish we didn't draft Russell. A healthy Porzingis or Booker would have definitely been better.

also, it is not a direct reflection on the player we selected.....some drafts were just deeper. For example, I think most would conclude that 2016 (Ingram's draft) was one of the weaker drafts.....while 2017 (Ball's draft) was the deepest. Hence, someone may prefer Mitchell or Tatum over Ball....but they may also prefer Mitchell or Tatum over Ingram, Russell and Randle.

Honestly not crazy about any of them. I'm ok with who we've got.

If Lonzo doesn’t take a big step next year, then missing out on Mitchell will be a bummer.

I would have preferred anyone who would still be on the team over Randle right now.

I picked Porzingus simply because at the time I absolutely could not believe all the hype people here were giving Russell and that he was the number 2 pick while if you liked Porzingus you were told u had no basketball IQ and we're completely mocked. That was the only recent first round pick I absolutely could not comprehend. Porzingus without the injuries would have been a top 10 player.

I was Porzingis all the way pre injury. He may come back stronger than ever, or he may be injury prone the rest of his career. Who knows. Tatum may have the most upside on that list, but it’s too early to give up on Zo. He had a great rookie season himself. And the kid can defend. So I went with Booker. Dude has LA written all over him. Except if you count Porzingis and IG models. He seems to be about that Clarkson life.

Capela has become the most overrated player in the league.

I’m pretty happy with our picks. I’m sad we let go of Randle, but I trust they had a good reason to let him go. And it’s way too soon to know how good a pick Lonzo and some of the others will be at this point.

Well looking what Randle become, I cant say anything for not drafting Jokic.

And it was really hard to predict Porzingis. But of course he is on my list at the top for sure. IMO he was a star before injury. We still do not have a star player on our team. Including young guys only of course.

Interesting, there's a slight preference for Booker over Porky.. There was a time Booker wasn't liked so much here.

Hard to say who'll have the better career.

A lot of the options are unfair though. I mean, with the 7th pick, are we really going to reach and pick a player going late like Capela or Jokic?

I can’t even see us taking Booker or Mitchell with the #2 overall.

But if i have to pick, and try to be somewhat realistic, I guess I go with booker. I think he’d be awesome next to Lonzo

Mitchell.

I'll ALWAYS prefer smaller players that can do it all vs bigs who can shoot or defend
