Very interested to watch how this roster turns out as the season progresses. Just about every mainstream media member has made some comment about how the roster at this point will be different from the roster post-deadline. Regardless, I'm going with 51-31. Either LeBron is going to win MVP or one of the young core is going to be All-NBA caliber.

I believe this team w/out James would be 42-42, next season. (w/Randle etc)

James is good for about 13-15 wins next year. Now we lost Randle, so maybe scale it back in win or two. But does he really represent more wins than Rondo? Or Stevenson? paired along with James? I don't think so.

So my official, this is my final answer, prediction accounting for all possible injury scenarios etc, is: 55-27

Yes. I believe we will improve by 20 games. 15 at minimum.

I'm calling double nickel! 55
Flat out showtime top 5 defense and top 5 fast break points.
We will bruise people and run them into the ground playing 11 deep.
Bron running the wings like big game and BBB throwing deep!

51-31 regular season.

Depending on their playoff matchups, a WCF appearance is possible.

I think they'd dismantle the Spurs & Blazers, toss-up versus the Rockets/Thunder/Jazz, and get gentlemen's swept against the Warriors.

Wolves, Nuggets, Pelicans in the first round would also be great series but ultimately won in six assuming good health and growth from the core.

And also, one of the "motley crew" of Lance, Beez, and Rondo are going to be released/traded. Don't see how everybody is happy with their minutes unless the Lakers distribute their roster in "waves" and give balanced time to their top 10-11 guys.

57-25. The same record the Lakers had in 2010 with Kobe, Pau, Metta, Fisher, Bynum, Odom, the Machine, Luke, Farmar, Shannon Brown, Adam Morrison, and DJ Mbenga.

It's championship or bust.

My inclination is to say 53-29, but I'll wait until I see a few preseason games until I give my "official" prediction. However, it appears that a lot of posters here should go to Vegas and bet the "over" on the Lakers 48.5 wins line.

47.

I want them to beat my expectations, not just meet them.

I expect a .500 start.

I expect frustration with Luke's rotations.

I expect *some* jibberish over PT from veterans and youthcore midseason.

I expect a hell of a run post All-Star break/trade deadline.

I'm gonna go 49-33, but more or less ditto what Mike said. Maybe not quite a .500 start though.

48-34. 2nd Round Playoff exit.

LBJ gets MVP. 26/8/8 on absurd efficiency.

Ingram and Kuz average 18ppg both of them on strong %'s but particularly Ingram.

Lonzo plays as many minutes as Rondo due to injury/poor performance but it works out because Rondo wins us over with ridiculous assist numbers including 5 games where he has 16 or more. Lonzo's slash lines similar to last year but with 1 less reb/ast a game.

No major trades.

I'm not betting against Vegas. I say 49 wins 4th place in the west.

We win our first round playoff series against Portland 4-0. We'll lose in the second round against the first seeded Golden State Warriors 4-2.

After the game there will be the obligatory hug by Lebron and KD, where Lebron will whisper in his ear, "see you at the press conference this summer; when we announce the signing".

Golden State will go on to lose to Boston in the Finals.

Lebron will get that sick feeling in the pit of his stomach watching Kyrie hoist the Larry O'Brien; similar to the way that Kobe felt seeing Shaq win his title in Miami.

This will be all the fuel Lebron needs to run off Back to Back titles with KD where Lebron wins the first Finals MVP and KD wins the second, thus passing the torch from Lebron to KD as the best basketball player on earth
This will tie the Lakers and Celtics with 18 Championships.

P.S.
We win our 19th Title a few years later pulling ahead of Boston in championships with KD and Bronny as Co-Finals MVP's.

I'm hopping in my Delorean and going back to the future.
It's much nicer there, especially after California secedes from the U.S. and becomes it's own country. Money isn't called money anymore, it's called Bucks. Not because it's slang but because each bill has Magic Johnson's picture on it. Quarters are called Kobe's, Dime's are called Jeanie's, Nickels are called Rob's and Pennies are called Jim's.
