That would be hilarious if it happened. Rondo's 9M, KCP's 12M both coming off the bench. Then of course we still have Deng's 18M. That's 39M sitting on the bench

That is more of a gold bench than a purple bench

Talent over money man. Plus it’s also about developing the young core more than one year mercenaries.

There's nothing I'd like more than for Kuz to start next season but I don't see any way KCP's coming off the bench. KCP's actually a pretty decent guard. And BI will most likely start as well so that leaves Kuz as the 6th man unfortunately. Hopefully, I'm wrong and BI improves his perimeter defense enough for him to be able to slide into the 2 position and Kuz gets to play 3 or 4.

for some strange reason Kuzma was never the first or second option last year on offense ,so to say that Tatum numbers are considered better because Kuzma was on a losing team is false.I agree Tatum has a awesome skill set as a iso player but Kuzma can be that given a chance.Tatum and Kuzma goes about scoring in different ways Kuzma doesn't give defenses time to react he's just make such quick decisions which leaves defenses on there hills ,Tatum has that iso kobe skill set take you off the dribble footwork in the post etc Kuzma doesn't have the handles that Tatum has but he is really skilled as well on all 3 levels .

KCP and Hart both off the bench would just lead to a confusing (and unnecessary) imbalance with the rest of the bench; especially with Lance being there too.

Not your strongest argument, Jim.

Anyone else feel like Kuz has a serious shot at being 6th man this year?

- LeBron feels like the smart money for MVP
- Brandon can win MIP if he becomes what we all hope
- And if we have a major turn around and win 52+ games, Luke could be in the COY convo

Now obviously all. of those won't happen but I would not be surprised to see 2 of those happening.

If the Lakers can at least get home court, Kuz winning 6th man of the year (if he does come off the bench) is probably the most likely out of all of those scenarios.

- Coach of the Year usually seems to go to the coach of whatever team has the best record, or at least the best in their conference. I could see Brown winning it if Philly is first in the league or in the East.

- MVP is winnable for LeBron, but I doubt it if the Lakers aren't first or second in the West.

- I'm not sure how winnable MIP would be for BI since he's gained a relatively strong following in the media (led by Doris Burke). If he averages 20 ppg (which is doubtful) people might look at it as him just taking the next step in his development or whatever.

- But I wouldn't be surprised if Kuz averages the most points for players off the bench, though. If he does and the Lakers, again, at least get home court, he could very well win it. Same goes for BI if he's the one who comes off the bench.

Personally, I think both Kuz (and BI) is/are right around 20ppg. Kuz is going to get starter mins and if he picks up where he left off last year, I think he's almost a shoe-in for top 3 in voting.

BI still doesn't get the national media love outside of Doris so if people saw a kid who all of sudden looks the part of an all star, he could be a contender for the award. I think this one is the least likely too.

Luke winning it feels like a huge reach unless we're top 3 in the West/NBA. I would put early money on Brad Stevens as they'll probably have the best record in the NBA. Nonetheless, Luke has a shot if we hit our ceiling of success this year- which feels good even if it's just that.

LeBron, IMO, wins it when we're in the top 4 of the West. I can't think of anyone else as of now that has a situation better suited for him to win it. Other people who come to mind for the award: Davis, Embiid, Kyrie, Dame, Westbrook, Kawhi.

He feels like not just a good, but a GREAT fit with LeBron.

I love his 3 pt shooting and ability to make plays off the dribble or finish on the break.

His D is not as bad as advertised either.

I agree. his shooting and ability to attack a closeout..as well as play in transition. it's going to be amazing playing off Bron.

I think he probably was just as good a defender as BI anyway.

My feeling is Kuzma will be Lebron’s new BFF. Guys like Kuzma fit on any lineup with his size, skill set and play style, and a total upgrade over most if not all off ball players Lebron has ever had in his career.

I think fans are getting way ahead of themselves with every sophomore besides Don and Ben.
