LBJ by himself gets us a 5-8 seed and probably a first round upset.
If we go further than that, it's because someone else on the team takes a leap to all star level.
We will probably lose the season series to GS. And we'd probably lose a playoff series to them as well. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”
If Lebron could repeat this season like last season, then Lonzo would be irrelevant. To me, Lonzo or Rondo on the floor wouldn't make that much of a difference. Maybe with Lebron taking the pressure off of Lonzo this season, he might be able to make his jumpshots this season.
I don't think he's irrelevant. Whether he starts or not is irrelevant, with the presence of Rondo. But having him (even if it's off the bench) assures that there will always be another elite passer/playmaker on the floor at all times to take the pressure off of LeBron. The whole point is so that LeBron DOESN'T have to repeat the carry-job he did last season.
Kuz and Ingram can carry the load while Lebron sits. If need a ball handler, then Rondo could fill that role, too. So Lonzo isn't really needed.
Rondo can't play 48 minutes, and you don't want Kuz and Ingram creating all their offense for themselves. Never mind Lonzo is the best defensive guard, on the team, and someone who can push pace to create easy opportunities. This is a guy looking at shooting and claiming a guy has no value.
Hart is the best defensive guard on the team, I prefer him in at the end of games over Rondo and Ball.
No Hart wasn't. He was a negative on defense according to advance stats. Ball had the best net rating on the whole team.
What exactly is the role of the 5 in our offense? It's not like he's gonna be a rim protector/roll man big...I know playing center isn't how it used to be watching Brook last year and the other C's in the league. I would love to see him in Kobe's pinch post role in the triangle where he can be the entry point to half court sets and make the necessary reads to get guys in position or get his own shot. I really have no clue what our offense is gonna look like this season..

Facts. Golden State’s best chance vs Lebron has always been throwing as many elite defenders at him as possible. Coupled by he fact that CLE’s front office completely fail to put any sort of team around Lebron in his last season.
Green is a better defender than LeBron period. In a match up with Golden State at this point in his career, he'd be the second worst but least effective defender on the court. Curry at least puts in the effort and gets steals. _________________

Lebron makes a basketball court look so small with his combination of size and speed. I think if they knew how players would evolve they would've made the court bigger.

This post is ridiculous and reeks of bias LOL
Lebron is still a good defender and people will see it this season now that he does not have to do everything. He just had to carry the entire Cleveland team, so obviously he did not have as much energy for defense. Plus his teammates were terrible on defense and it is hard for one player to erase that, especially if that player is literally their entire offense. Lebron can still lock down. The whole Lebron can't defend narrative is BS and will be destroyed this season. Lebron is still an athletic freak with great size, a high bball IQ, and great instincts.

And 34 years old who hasn’t defended in 2 years. It isn’t a knock on Lebron that he is getting older, it happens to everyone. Guys in their mid to late 30’s don’t win DPOY. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
I'm sure he can still D up in spurts when the need is urgent.
especially when you have a hoard of playmakers taking the offensive load off of him. maybe that's officially the 19-20 season when we have Kawhi on top of
Ingram, Zo, Kuz
a lottt of guys to take that load off Lebron. Even in CLE 2 years ago, it was just him and Kyrie creating. We could have 4 above average creators next to him in our best lineup next year
