The opener against Portland should be winnable, but it won't be easy. The Suns and Nuggets games should be winnable, and the Mavs game is definitely winnable.

None of these are great teams, except for Houston. I feel like the Spurs are going to plummet out of the playoffs this year.

Good chance we lose to the Rockets. 2 away games against the Blazers, so a hopeful case is 1-1. Home on a B2B against to raptors would be tough game usually, but LeBron owns the Raptors. The other games are roughly 75 to 80% winnable, maybe more. So 6-4 is doable, and with the stats OP pointed out, that would be better than every first year LeBron has ever had with a new team.

If they can't finish those first 10 games over .500, I wouldn't blame Luke, LeBron, etc. etc, would just blame my own homer expectations, but I think they have a good chance at being LeBrons best ever start on a new team.

Lakers are on a 0-15 losing streak at Portland... something about that place gives bad voodoo

6-4 should be doable, even though everyone knows what LeBron can do, the rest of the Lakers have been sort of under-achievers, which may open the door for LeBron to get his 9 assists, which means KCP and Ingram are tearing it up...

Something about them having Damaian Lillard who seems to have extra motivation when he plays the Lakers and torches us in the fourth quarter and puts down ridiculous dunks at the end of games that he doesn't do against others? Now he will have to face a team that can match him. I understand some people think Lonzo is comparable or better to Lillard, but even before that, we never had a team that could match that kind of 4th quarter intensity. Lillard should be (bleep) in his boots now. I hope that streak is about to end.

I could see us going 5-5 but I think that is my bottom. I could see us splitting with the Blazers.

I think the Spurs will be the 2 seed, they got better then the KL-less team last year.

Now we have a team that, at least on paper is better than the Blazers. Also, as much as we've sucked in Portland the last 20+ years, we've actually been great in the playoffs there. Our guys need to get this supposed jinx out of their heads and remember that now we're the better team.

Make it 8 playoff teams in 11 games, as our 11th game is vs. Minny.

If we make 6-5 in this initial stretch, than we have an easier schedule:
Kings (A)
Hawks (H)
Blazers (H)
Magic (A)
Heat (A)
Cavs (A)
Jazz (H)
Magic (H)

Five easy games and 3 medium-to-hard: Miami, Jazz and Blazers, but quite winnable. We can easily go 7-1 in this stretch, what would mean a 13-6 (0.68) start. A bit optimistic, but feasible.

I predict a 8-12 from the first 20.

I'm thinking 500. Thats a brutal schedule.
3-7 wouldn't even shock me.

Not as concerned with record of first 10 as i am with how the team loses or wins.
If the losses are blowouts i'm gonna be in a serious funk.

But if the games are tight and it comes down to missed reads, or a few plays that could have gone either way (young guys missing crucial shots or committing silly fouls etc) those can all get better and are likely corrected with time together and more practice

Maybe on this forum.

But there isn't an executive or coach in the league that wouldn't have Dame waaayyyy ahead of Lonzo.

And about 50 guys in between them

Not a nice schedule - I just hope that brings the team and staff together. But I guess the stupid guys start to talk about trading youth or changing coaches anyway...

Lebron’s gonna tear it up as usual, but if our your guns can start the season like they ended the previous one, I wouldn’t be surprised if they go 7-3. Feeling positive

50 pts
Rockets (home) Rockets running like a well oiled machine blowing the Lakers out the first Half then the Lakers move Lebron to small center after half time. We make a run but fall short and see the potential of the team. L113- 108
Spurs (home) Derozan never leaves the locker room when he sees Lebron is playing Lakers win 100-92
Phoenix (away)Lakers win 120-103
Nuggets (home) (B2B)Murray trash talks Lonzo about his starting job and Luke inserts Lance to clothesline Murray. Lakers win on Lebrons 40 15 and 10
Spurs (away) Lakers win
Wolves (away) Wolves win
Mavs (home) Lakers Win
Blazers (away) Blazers win after Dame finds his watch
Raptors (home) (B2B)Lakers win a Thriller and Kawhi is serenaded by the LA crowd

I see 8-2 we got Lebron James in little kids voice.

Hmm, a total guess, but I actually think Lebron is going to hold back a bit in the early going. Which, IMO, would be a smart thing to do.

Figure out how to make this team thing work, and, if it's not going too well, after time, he'll start taking over and tearing it up.

Hopefully we don't have a slow start, everyone is healthy going into training camp and we're super motivated for the season.

The pre-season games should be interesting viewing, more so than ever as we've got so many new faces.

Those guys are the biggest Laker haters, too bad they didn't get that job in Seattle.
