Need Beasley there IMO, very good shooter fg & ft, bad def though big question mark. Rondo is also clutch Fg wise, just cant shoot ft like everyone on our current roster. |
Maybe. But if you have my lineup you don't have to worry about Rondo off ball if LBJ is orchestrating (which he will likely do). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

What we would probably start the season with:
Start: Zo / KCP / Ingram / Lebron / McGee
Bench: Rondo / Hart / Kuz / Beasley / Zubac-Mo
End: Hart / KCP / Ingram / Kuz / Lebron
But I'm afraid this setup is gonna be a repeat of early last season when all our offensive firepower were stuck on the bench with JC, Julius and Kuz all coming off the bench. This year, it's gonna be Hart, Kuz, Beasley and possibly Svi.
If Ingram remains the same player as last year or only marginally improves then I'd like to see Kuz in that starting lineup by mid-season. |

I wouldn't be surprised. Also I like the idea of staggering LBJ and Rondo's minutes. That way there is a genius basketball IQ player on the court at all times. Getting everyone else good looks. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

I want to see a closing lineup of:
Hart
Svi
Lance
Mo
Zubac
Meaning the game is out of reach for the other team. |

I want to see a lineup where Lebron (or Rondo) run the point with BI and Kuzma being the main options.
Lebron
Hart
Ingram
Kuzma
Mcgee

If you replaced Hart with KCP I think that will be the best 5 after GSW.
PG.Lebron
SG.KCP
SF.Ingram
PF.Kuzma
C.Mcgee
KCP and Kuzma sniping away while Mcgee sets the screens and ingram waits to slash or make a play off the lebron pass. All these guys are 6”7+ and great finisher so do you help off mcgee when they attack the close out and let him get easy dunks all game? |

McGee (16) | Beasley (20) | LeBron (12)
LeBron (18) | Kuzma (30)
Ingram (32) | Lance (16)
Pope (24) | J Hart (24)
Lonzo (30) | Rondo (18)
end games with: LeBron, Kuzma, BI, and whoever is playing best out of Lonzo, KCP, Hart. |

Love the thought. But not likely to happen unless an injury bug hits the Lakers.
Other then Hart I would expect two of the other four to be in street clothes on any given night. |

Good point on the 12 man active roster.
Lonzo
Rondo
KCP
Hart
BI
Lance
Lebron
Kuzma
McGee
Zubac
Beasley
From there a toss up between Mo and Svi.
So...
Lance
Beasley
Zubac
Svi/Mo
Hart ? |

I think that by the all start break, we're going to have it's going to be clear who the main core guys are getting minutes and who the supporting players are.
Lebron, Ingram, Lonzo, Kuzma and Hart will all have above 28 minutes per game. They'll all be towards the top in most of the counting stats and most of these guys will be helping close out games for the most part.
Rondo, Lance, Mcgee and Beasley will all have 10-20 minutes per game, be the supporting cast and vet type players but they won't have the roles people are expecting them to have.
KCP is a wildcard, but personally I think he's going to find a role more with the first group (25+ minutes) then with the supporting cast because of his 3 and D play style plus his game leads me to believe that he's going to come back as a much better player.
Personally, from reading the headline of a potential Lonzo/Hart/Ingram/Kuzma/Lebron death lineup that our coaching staff+ FO is supposedly excited about, also from all of Magic/Pelinkas comments about sustained success + the one year contracts I think that the main idea is growing the core and having the vets as mentor guys who can play minutes when injures hit. _________________ “Life is too short. Despite the upgrades, this next season is a work in progress - I think we will win about 50 games, assuming all goes well and no serious injuries to key players.
The plan is still to get another big free agent to pair with Lebron in 2019-20. So I think all the one year deals are auditioning to stay here beyond next year on cheap deals, or in KCP's case, trying to show he is that second star that can be paired with Lebron.
Minutes distribution will be a work in progress until the all-star game. We will see which units can win games, and which guys can shoot and score effectively.
As much as we all like Kuzma, BI, Ball if anyone of those guys plays poorly, and their shooting is worse, then they find themselves not starting and the vets taking over. Even long-term, a poor year by a young guy this year, may be the kiss of death long term. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

I’m guessing a part of it has to do with not letting the opposing team get a better feel for how to do defend it. And thats why its used towards the end of the game.
Also, a small ball lineup may be the best lineup in the short minutes it is played, but it is likely unsustainable over longer periods of time. |

Foul trouble. As the game goes on the risk of fouling out goes down. The refs tend to let you battle a bit more later in the game too. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Rob and Magic want versatility. Not a small ball team, but a team that can adapt to playing small ball in key situations. |

Depends on the matchup.
If the opposing big likes to bang in the paint, it's tiring for the smaller player.
And will most likely take a toll on the long season.
Sure we might win games more efficiently on offense, but I want lebron fresh for the playoffs. |

Starting a small ball lineups doesn’t change our versatility. You’ll still have a big coming off the bench. Outside of Embiid and Towns I don’t think there’s any centers that get their offense outside of pick and rolls or put backs. If your two bigs are Lebron and Kuzma the opposing team center is in trouble. Gilbert Adams and other shot blocks will have to leave the paint. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

I think it's another case of "this is the way we've always done it" as far as starting a traditional center (although Lebron has barely played center in his career, to be fair). The idea of wanting to play your best 5 man line-up as much as possible isn't exactly crazy.
I do feel like Beasley may get run at the 5, which I haven't really heard suggested. |

Would be marvelous in spurts but would be too taxing on Lebron's body if done for all 82 games. If we had another small ball center who could do the dirty work on defense while preserving Lebron for offense then I might be convinced.
Small ball works with the warriors because Draymond is not expected to score a lot. He can be banged up the whole game and they'd still be fine because they only expect him to pass and shoot the occasional 3 pointer on offense and not to be the focal point of the offense as we expect Lebron to be for us. |

I suggested it in one of those threads. While he’s not a rim Protector he’s fast enough to defend picks or switch on pics to a smaller player. On the offensive end there’s no starting center who could stop him. I’m totally on board with running teams out of the gym. We don’t have GSW shooters so let’s lead the league in points in the paint and pace. _________________ Coach Vogel, Kidd, Hollins

Same reason why the Warriors don't start Dray at center.
He'd foul out by the 3rd quarter. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
