Going to be interesting to watch his progress all season long.

Leonard is 100 percent and has no limitations in his workouts."

Meh Amico is not Sam Amick, he's a little sketchy, but whatevs. Time will tell come a month from now.

Amico is a clown, but that’s a very definitive report. KL’s camp wanting to get the word out that he’s 100% healthy and ready to go.

As a Laker fan, this is great news if it turns out to be true. And as you said, we’ll know for sure in a little over a month or so.

lol. That is horrible news for the Lakers. The asking price just went up and KL may re-sign with his team like PG.

I see this as good news: if he signs with us great, if he signs with the Raptors cool we sign Butler instead. It gives us options, a plan A and B for next year if true... We aren't trading for him.

Asking price? I don't even know what to tell you at this point if you still think the Lakers will try to acquire him via trade.

Would you prefer him to be unable to play well due to his injuries ?

As for the asking price- have you ever heard the term “Free Agent” ?

We didn't trade for him when his value was at the absolute lowest, and now we're gonna pay a premium knowing he's healthy? Makes no sense to me. To be fair though, with Buford's twisted logic, he was asking for the value of KL AND Lebron

Lakers most likely wait.
But if the rumor that the GM is OK with a rebuild, he may sale for picks and the rooks. I agree with the thinking that the GMs goal was to get rid of DD. If things work out with Kawhi, that's great. If not, he's all good with a rebuild.

Thankfully, we have the biggest bird in hand (LBJ). This changes the equation in terms of having a recruiting chip next summer. Plus, I think our young core is going to blossom this year and also be a really big recruiting chip too.

Whether you consider it news or not is up to you. I posted because there have been no "fragments" concerning Leonard's health for a long time.

Recently the workout picture and now a NBA "source". I have no clue how credible the source is. But the mere fact that he is back on the court is news IMO.

Leonard's unknown health (short and long term) has been the 2nd biggest story of the NBA off-season. Likely to be the biggest story of the coming season. The implications of his health, performance and eventual decision will impact several franchises "if healthy".

Whether he chooses to join the Lakers is up to him next summer. But his potential return to previous levels is good for the NBA overall. I will be watching.

Now imagine Lebron + young core and then upgrading from KCP to a healthy Kawhi. That team could compete with GS.

People sometimes forget how young our core is, and that basically each summer we get an improved version. It's like getting upgrade after upgrade while massively upgrading top line talent via FA.

Annual young core upgrade
Annual young coach upgrade
#1 Available FA upgrade
Annual vet ring chaser upgrade

No stopping us if we get Kawhi.

Yes, free agents that stay with their teams or go elsewhere. If Kyrie and Jimmy go to the Knicks as rumored, which choice is better for KL? Klay and Durant are going to stay with GSW. Who else is left? Cousins who is recovering from an achilles? To compete with GS, we’d need BI, Kuz, and Hart to ALL become All Stars.

The term All-star is misused and/or misapplied often when talking about what our young Lakers can, could, or need to be. Having that designation can be skewed because of media politics, where an incumbent can beat out a seemingly more deserving player, just because of seniority and less familiarity with the new guy.

Lillard is a good example of a star who wasn't an all star. If our youngsters could climb to his pre all-star level, this team would have some cheap talent worth talking about, and I wouldn't part with any of them.

Not at all. I'm the first one on LG saying this team as constructed, has a good chance to win a ring this year. I don't believe that media awarded labels are going to hold back Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, and others from showing that they really are stars and that you don't need a label/an acknowledgement from the media to win a ring.

I believe all 3 of those guys could score 20 + ppg efficiently, this year. Why would I want to lose that combination of young talent?

It sounds like you believe KL and young core are mutually exclusive, whereas I believe we need to minimize the number assets to attain KL and improve the chances from good to great.

No, you're inserting words where you see fit. I believed he has good qualities that could help him become a good player. I never predicted he'd be a leading scorer on a championship team, an all-star, or the highest paid player on the team. I did say he was better than Tarik Black, and could develop where he could replace Mosgov.

Feel free to impeach my credibility with any claims you choose. I have no problem saying I was wrong about anything, but I still believe Zu is going to be a good player...this year. Now you have it in writing, so hold me to it if you like.

Found this interesting. Finally some info on Leonard's "health" is slowly leaking out. About damn time!

Have no clue as to the legitimacy or truthfulness of the sources cited but at least something to ponder as the off-season slowly marches on.

Going to be interesting to watch his progress all season long.

"Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard has been killing it during his summer workouts and “looks remarkable,” a league source told Amico Hoops on Sunday.

Would you prefer him to be unable to play well due to his injuries ?

As for the asking price- have you ever heard the term “Free Agent” ?

If our youngsters could climb to his pre all-star level, this team would have some cheap talent worth talking about, and I wouldn't part with any of them.

seems like LGers are happy to just have a good team rather than focusing on winning a championship.

I'm ok with KL on this squad. I wouldn't trade our young core for him or Butler. If they want to come, do what LeBron did. If they might sign somewhere else, like PG did, so be it.

I just lucked into a free ticket (season seat) for Toronto @ Lakers on November 4th.

Anyone else going to the game, you know what to do. As in every time Kawhi touches the ball.

"MVP" chants when he's at the line? A few "come back home" chants during the game? Let's make it happen.

I almost feel bad for the Raptors fans who will be in attendance. Almost.

time to lock or move this thread. With Deng bought out, it would take too many assets to get KL.
