Would any of you give him another run with us. He looks like in great shape! _________________ "The defending champions were drained -- and coach Doc Rivers suspected it might happen. The end of a 19-game winning streak can do that."

I would love it if he could be viable, he was one of my favorites. I don't see it. Good luck to him in any case.
Funny how Mike Brown benched him for taking threes in-game back in 2012. Nowadays every big is launching 'em.
He is now 30 years old.
It would be a great story. Enough that the Lakers ought to send a scout to see what he really can do. I don't see it either. I also wish him good luck. _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

Non guaranteed deal to prove himself if he is in shape, but dont think he has the attitude to come back. thought he lost his passion for bball. you cant fake it to get some quick money to pay some bills. did larry sanders ever come back? _________________ SCHROEDER/CARUSO/COOK

He's an enigma. I can't believe he had no passion for the game, especially when he had so much pride when Shaq dunked on him. He was pissed, called for the ball, dunked on Shaq, ran back and even gave Shaq a little elbow. I was never more proud.

I don’t know his knees are always a problem to deal with, though I think he could make a comeback if he fix his head cases he had a while back in Indiana if I remember correct _________________ We'll be back better than ever

The knees are the obvious question. He worked a lot on rehab, the knees proved to be glass. I'll be surprised if they're anywhere close to average durability now.
Drew's mental state is WAY down the list of concerns. That's something the Lakers can evaluate if they give him a tryout on a minimum non guaranteed contract. The moment they sniff trouble, they can dump him right there, problem solved. It's all about the knees.
Drew was pretty good before the knees went out. Judging from the video it looks to me like Drew's slimmed down and got himself in very good shape, he's developed an outside shot, but on the flipside he looks like he's lost most of his lift. Which again comes back to the knees. Can he sustain 10 minute stints throughout the season, banging against opposing centers, chasing close-outs, showing on pick and roll defense, without swelling and pain?
It would be a great comeback story if he could contribute off the end of the bench, and I don't blame the Laker staff for taking a look at him, but I'm not expecting to see Drew back in a Laker uniform either at this stage.
