Los Angeles Lakers have bonafide starter in Josh Hart

Quote:
Josh Hart’s sophomore season with the Los Angeles Lakers has yet to take to place, though his second tenure at the 2018 NBA Summer League has proven his game has excelled in all facets.

LeBron James has always played at his best with players like Josh Hart

Although not often considered in the same tier of the rest of the Lakers’ young core, Josh Hart’s skillset may prove to be the most seamless fit alongside LeBron James next season.
The “3-and-D” role itself has been proven to be an invaluable archetype beside a monster primary initiator like James, and between Hart’s Summer League efforts and his rookie season, he projects to be one of the King’s favorite role players.

I buy this to the fullest. Hart has that Dog in him, that grit. The playoff intensity and physicality aren't going to phase him. When performances have been expected(the most important thing) of him he's consistently delivered.

Don't see him coming off the bench for long, especially if he embraces the challenge of improving of defense.

Thing I love about Hart is he knows his role as a 3&D at the moment but wants to become more than that. He showed in SL that he is capable of being a really good all around talent. I hope this year he finds a balance between his 3&D role and his all around game.

He's also a proven champion.

Wasn't Melo a proven champion? I don't really know that college proves anything.

Nah, wish he would have hit Puig in the head! Lol, I'll probably get roasted here for that but I'm a long time Giants fan.

Uh, ok! LMAO!! Say what you will and not just because im a Giants fan, he's a PUNK! Any forum besides an LA forum you'd see that, so it's not just a SF/LA rivalry thing.

Anyway not gonna trash the Josh Hart thread, and yes I am a laker fan...been since the showtime era!

That's Right. I'm from Puerto Rico as my nickname suggests and I studied my primary school with Dickie Thon, who was going to be a future Hall of Famer as this article portraits, and then it happened:

Dickie Thon hit in face by pitch

Quote:

It was a pitch that turned the tables on his predicted Hall of Fame future. It was a pitch that cost him his vision in one eye. It was a pitch that resounded like an exploding thud of a rock hurled against a barn door.

what I really like about Hart is that he is more than just a 3 and D guy. He is very capable of driving it to the hoop and will feast off of defenses that try to close out hard on his 3point attempts... one pump fake and he's already at the rim.
yep, as LO use to say. He's a basketball player. he can do it all.

I just heard what i think is the best player comparison for Josh Hart....Joe Dumars!! What do you guys think?...

I am super high on Josh although I dont think he starts this year... If we can make sure that he and KCP are both happy with minutes played by giving them atleast 25 minutes on the floor each, I think its a great strategy for them to play balls to the wall defense on every play. I dont expect Josh to reach his full potential this year, but the next year after this one, its going to be very very difficult not to give him 30 minutes a game.

I like it. Joe was kind of a tweeter too but he had tenacity on defense and could hit that step back j the josh has been working on.

I made that comparison a while ago on the ceiling thread.

Yup his ceiling is Joe Dumars and his basement is Anthony Peeler. If he gets the minutes he will shine!!!!

Noooooo.....just because Worthy suggested it means little. That was Jerome Williams of the Pistons nickname. They even still regard him by the initials JYD.

Josh deserves his own unique nickname.

Is there a more wholesome player on the team? Maybe Caruso?

Josh needs a wholesome nickname...like Josh Boy Walton or something.

I think Hart likes it more when he’s under the radar, he’s one of those guys who loves proving people wrong.
