Maybe was pissed that Hart was starting over him.

He was worse in the first game, tho.

True... If KCP can shoot, he's a perfectly decent second unit player... but his one dimensional play doesn't mesh with the high IQ play of the first team.

LBJ, Rondo, Ingram, Lonzo, McGee... KCP just can't keep up with that type of lineup. Hart can if needed.

He looks like a potential 10th man so far.

If he cannot win the job I sure hope Luke doesn't give it to him.

IMO KCP has not played up to par the first two games. He needs to step up because, whether he starts or comes off the bench, he is still an important member of the team.

I remember last year in the preseason he looked lost , but then started to get comfortable, maybe he’s one of those vets who have been in this league that doesn’t mind playing with a chill mood during the preseason and we know there is a lot of vets who do that during the preseason.

Is anybody else concerned about the dramatic weight loss? Seems like most of his shots are clanking at the front of the rim now

At the media day he stated that he changed his diet and feels better and quicker than he ever has before. So I am not concerned that he is better shape.

Personally I think KCP will be fine, he's always been streaky but if anything I think he's just a slow-burner at the start of a season and takes a bit to get going.

Yeah, Luke and his staff probably aren’t worried 1 bit, we already know KCP can get going and put up nice stats we have seen it.

KCP looked pretty good last night. He was M.I.A in the first 2 games. Glad to see him contribute to the cause.

11 points 7 rebounds & solid defense.

Good to know he feels that way.
Sad thing, the feeling is not mutual.

Looked better coming off the bench.

Josh added more to the starting unit because of his ability to put the ball on the floor in a half court setting and finish at the basket.

KCP can only do that 'some of the time' when he's going down hill on a fast break and it has always been a weakness for him.

Kuzma changed his diet too, only fruits, veggies and fish now, no longer eats meat.

He's an asset coming off the bench IMO. I could see a bench anchored by Rondo, Kuz, and KCP maintaining or building leads.

KCP answered the bell and ended up with a good game tonight (20 points). When he plays well we are a dangerous team.

We'll need him.
Svi isn't ready.
And Lance is a mystery by quarter.

He's possibly the most natural fit with Lebron when he's going 100%.

He's pretty good at getting open for 3s imo. Or he's actually one of the guys that are constantly looking to get open at the 3 point line. So if he's hitting he'll be a plus. And a good fit.

Not the greatest handling the ball or making decisions with the ball though.

Unfortunately that's his MO.

Looks way better then early on during the preseason, he will play even more better in the regular season, Im expecting him to have a good year under LeBron similar with Mo Williams in Cleveland.

When KCP is hitting the three the Lakers are a different team. Much better.
KCP is probably the best 3 point shooter on the Lakers. And therefore very valuable.
Either KCP or Kuzma has to be in the game to provide 3 point shooting.
Lonzo - can't hit the 3 pointer yet
Ingram - mid range player
McGee -no
Lebron - yes

So without KCP in the starting lineup there is really no 3 point shooter besides Lebron.

I’d like to see Hart over KCP but doubt that it will happen. I’ll be willing to bet that at the end of the year their 3pt percentage is pretty similar. I like what Hart brings to the team over KCP. Pope is a little too one dimensional.

Luke Walton said Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (tendinitis) participated in almost all of practice and was pulled out at the end for precautionary reasons. Walton said Caldwell-Pope is good to go for the opener against Portland.
