My point is that the memo will get out to the league that BI doesn't like to shoot 3s and defenses will adjust accordingly. By making 1.5-2 3s a game it would actually diversify his offensive portfolio.
That memos already out. It's been out since last year. And opposing teams still struggle to guard him without fouling.
But for our team's sake. I get where you're coming from. We'll need floor spacing. It'll make his teammates' lives easier.
Yeah. I think the side effects of Ingram's 3 shooting or lack of might be a little exaggerated. If anyone could point out specific examples I'd be all ears however. I can remember him attacking a hard close out for an easy dunk against Sacramento. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
J. Kyle Mann of the Ringer, who’s also known from The Dime Drop, has a series about upcoming NBA stars. Part 1 talks about Brandon Ingram. It’s done exceptionally well and was entertaining to watch.
A couple things I took away from the video was:
A) He doesn’t believe Ingram will be a franchise player, but he can be an All-Star.
B) The Lakers should utilize him like how the Magic used Penny Hardaway.
So he doesn’t think BI will be a superstar but yet wants the team to use him like how Magic used Penny? Does this guy even know that Penny could have been 1 of the greatest if not for the disaster injuries that ruined his career.

Penny could have been 1 of the greatest sidekicks? Lets not extrapolate a few standard deviations beyond the data. He was a very solid all-star level player by age 24, but he wasn't on an all-time great trajectory by any measurable data.

All the great sidekicks were in the HOF, look it up..
Tell me which sidekick did not make the HOF or won’t make the HOF? Penny could have been a great player similar to Grant Hill but both were ruined by injuries.
I dont think the ringer guy said he was Penny.
AFireInside619's summary said the Lakers should try to utilize BI like the Magic did Penny. Not that they were the same.

utilizing a player in comparison to a team’s player is basically like comparing that player to the player you are trying to utilize unless you are gonna disrespect the player by thinking he isn’t Penny but can play like Penny.

Saw this on Celtics forum 😂
Quote:
Short-handed Lakers beat the 3-quarter Warriors. They look pretty dangerous with LeBron and Rondo. Kuzma looking stellar. Brandon Ingram achieving new heights this year; Jaylen Brown better take notes.
I don’t think anyone with a basketball knowledge ever considered Brown to be better then BI, last season he did play better then him in stretches but this season is gonna be a completely different story.

Both could be true.
For example - you could say you don’t believe Lonzo will be a franchise player.
You could also say the Lakers should utilize Ball like the Nets did with Jason Kidd.
Its safe to say we are in good hands even after LBj retires
In four years he’d be 25, in five years he’d be 26 just entering his prime. The future is extremely bright _________________ My Dream Starting 5 next Season
All the nitpicking is irrelevant. We only need Ingram to improve enough to keep the eventual Anthony Davis trade package favorable for us. Right now, he has already accomplished this for us.
We'll let the Pelican worry about his three point shooting. Not our problem.
Man, some of you guys are the biggest (bleep) party killers saying stuff like this about our own players in a thread that's not even about trades.
I can see why people who aren't high on BI think we're sensitive a majority of the time but this is literally just bait for any BI fan smh
Bait? Why would I need to post something for bait? I don't care what you or anyone thinks man. This is my opinion; that's it.
I like Ingram. But he is one year behind in development. His jump should have taken place last season. Now it's about closing the equity gap for the trade.
Blame LeBron... A lot of ish is going to happen that people aren't going to like because of him. _________________ “There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.” ―Bruce Lee

No patience? He's only played two seasons. What is he like 20-21?
I like the Laker players, but let’s just say I haven’t been on the BI train up till now. But what I saw against Golden State, a much better jumper, solid free throw shooting and pretty good defense. I’d say this is the first I’ve seen of Brandon where I think he has shown the potential to be something beyond an average starter. Let’s hope we see the butterfly emerge from the larve stage.
BI with 80% FT and great defense is a better version of DeRozan.
it will take a couple years for his midrange ISO jumpers to be that good, fwiw.
I expect him to be a better, more in the flow playmaker than Deroz.
And hopefully be a decent 3pt shooter, which Droz has never been
