Kuz will come in handy at center at times...it's up to Luke to put him in successful situation.
Kuz is working hard and I think he will figure it out and be more of a Draymond type center

The problem with that is that it isn't even remotely, within the same galaxy of what he excels at.

seems to be smarter than most give him credit for and seems to be a quick learner
...hoping he excels at team play

Anyone who's played competitive basketball will tell you that guarding people who are 5-7 inches taller and 30-40 pounds heavier is exhausting.

I think Kuz's legs were worn out battling the trees all night. I think it's a disservice to him.

2-3” taller most nights but Nurkik probably has 50lbs on him, that’s just crazy

Kuz is what, 6'8/6'9 tops? had to battle legit 7 footers in Collins/Leonard. They just crucified the team on the boards. He's giving up 3-5 inches, and easily 20-30 pounds.

Kuz struggled with the physicality of PFs, and to throw him to even more physical Cs? Yikes.

Its not just the height and weight Kuz doesn't have a real strong base or legs like a Draymond Green or Dennis Rodman he's just not built that way

agreed. He's better playing SF as a secondary position. We are making a mistake IMO on this.

Don't get all Chris Webber ("Kyle Kuzma is 6'7") on us. He measured 6'9.5" in shoes at the combine. So Collins and Nurkik have 2.5" on him, Leonard does have a legit 3.5" on him. Now when we get to play those 4 games this season against Boban, he will be giving up like 10", but whatever...

Anyway, a inch here or there aside, the height isn't the issue so much as the base. He doesn't have it. And so he's got no business playing the 5. This round peg in a square hole experiment just isn't going to work--Kuzma isn't going to become a center, even of the small ball variety. They need to plug that hole ASAP.

Kuz doesn't move his feet like a rim protecting center would (i.e. knowing how to stay on the ground on fakes and not overjumping to contest unnecessarily). He has the footwork of a forward.

And 100% agree he doesn't have the lower body strength.

Look at his legs compared to PJ Tucker who is 6'4.

And when Moe does get back, I still think he's going to be in for a rude awakening about the strength of NBA bigs. So I agree it would be great to have him, but we should set our expectations pretty low regardless.

6’11 240 guy playing Center is still better than a 6’9 220ish guy playing center.

Just look at Tucker/Dray's booties compared to Kuz.

Yeah.

The undersized booty never fails.

man am I annoying.

Kuz was 223 at the combine and put on 15(?)lbs he said, this summer.
And Nurk is not 240. he's a good 270+, 6'11 and absolutely massive, cmon.

he def has the arms and torso build of a 6'9 guy in that weight range. his arms are bigger than Lonzo's for instance, just naturally

First Luke wants Kuz to try play small forward and now back up center. Luke doesn't know what he is doing.

Kuz needs to play in front of the basket. period!!!!

I think the LA media did him a huge disservice with the level of hype we heard all summer about him. Offensively, he just has to adjust to where he's going to get shots. Defensively, him at the 5 just won't work against any 5 with size.

He actually looks like he lost weight to me. Could be because he is matched up with bigger guys though.
