OKC is #30 in points and OKC is #30 in three point percentage.
The Lakers are #27 in points and #29 in three point percentage.
The league isn't playing with Half Court Make it, Take it (Winner's Ball) rules, so the other team gets a possession after the Lakers make a basket.
They are going to need extreme efficiency in the up tempo plays to offset being behind in three point shooting percentage when forced into being in half court sets. |
But we’re playing our blue print , push push push. Once they got familiar with each other, the shots would fall more, less rushing shots from the younger guys and the defense should be closer to last year (McGee need to play more mins). OKC already a finish product |

They are at or near the top in the categories bolded. You are suggesting that they can improve and that will overcome underperforming in other categories.
Maybe they can improve in those categories, but I don't see that as enough to offset underperforming in the three point percentage category.
LeBron is 33 and Rondo is 32. If they can keep playing at this pace for the rest of the season, then I will be impressed. If the pace has to be slowed down because they are tired or they have to take some games off to rest, then things could get ugly with more half court sets and bad three point shooting.
LeBron has slipped a bit in recent years on defense. Again being 33 and playing at a higher pace suggests that he will need to conserve energy at times and rest more than desired by Walton on defense. |
Our 3pt shooters, LeBron, Kuz, KCP haven’t even got going in that dept yet. This isn’t close to the finish product |

Playing tat he pace they are in practice is different than playing at that pace in a live game, the missed 3's are part of that and the missing shots late in games, they will get in game shape soon and run teams out the gym |

The team was already lagging in three point percentage in the preseason. |

After 5 games :
OffRTG : 114.8 (4th) up from 114.7 (last game)
DefRTG : 113.9 (25th) up from 115.5
NetRTG : 0.9 (13th) up from -0.7
Can't wait to have the full crew back, think our offense will be elite, and our defense can be decent. I'm hopefull... |

Other positives :
- we take good care of the ball, 5th in TOV%, 3rd in AST/TO
- still high in pace, 3rd at 107.07
- for a so-called non shooting team, we're still 7th in TS%
What we can do better :
- rebounding, 21st in REB% |

The worst 3pt shooting team in the league last year shot 33% from there. So I think we'll still improve on our current 31%.
Odd that Denver is actually worse than us shooting from deep so far in spite of having multiple snipers on their roster. |

They are 7th in offensive efficiency.
Their defensive efficiency rating is better than Houston, Minnesota, New Orleans & Washington - all playoff teams that are playing worse defense than the Lakers at this early juncture. All five of those teams will improve as the season progresses. The Lakers are the only one of the five with a completely reconstructed team. _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. A Streetwise Smart Bomb, Out of rehab and In denial. #8 in scoring per game.
Prior to the Mavs game (and maybe Spurs game), we were ranked #3 in scoring per game (two point per game behind the Dubs). This, despite the fact that we are such poor 3 point shooters.
It appears that we may score so often and so fast that it kind of negates the need for 3 point shooting, meaning, as long as we are playing on offense the way we are, we may not need 3 point shooters the way some other teams need it. If we can get our half court offense smoothed out, we will likely shoot back into the top 5 scorong teams in the league.
Which I also think means that our main problems remain on defense. |

Their 3 wins are the three games where they attempted the fewest 3 pointers; 28 against Phoenix, 23 against Denver, and 17 against Dallas. When considering their offensive efficiency and pace, the fact that they get more possessions per game than their opponent, it makes sense to limit their 3 point attempts and take the higher percentage shots they are getting near the rim.
I didn't expect the offense to gel this well this early. Defense is effort. They have the superior length to be a good team defensively (outside of depth at the center position) so I expect to see steady improvement as the year progresses. _________________ I'm On point, On task, On message, and Off drugs. lol im sorry, these are the MOST positive stats you could have chosen!
we are shooting only 2 fewer threes than GSW per game, which is weird considering all our points in the paint effort and lack of skill for the longball. We are worst five ft%, which is slightly better than last year. Houston is surprisingly low on the ft% too, but the difference is you can expect them to pick that up. whereas for us, i think we are right on track. |

Record 4-5
Our team stats:
#2 in PPG
#16 in REB
#6 in AST
#5 in STL
#4 in BLK
Chandler being in the rotation will help with rebounds. Despite the shooting woes, this team can play. |

I wouldn't make much of that stat. The starters have dug some pretty big holes and the bench pulled them back. That would be the obvious explanation, imo. |
