News alert for all the chicken little fans here.....Lakers are a new team. Getting to know each other. I think the players need to rely less on Lebron and take ownership. I think you will see that going forward.

With that being said, hey everyone, Houston is not really a new team...they are 1-5.

Yes, 1-5.

I believe the youth refer to it as "keeping receipts".

Giving CP3 that big extension will haunt them, they should have saved that cap space for the 2019 FA when they could have had a chance at guys like KD/Klay and others, but getting Butler might save them.

It's going to be tough just to hit .500 anytime soon. We play some of the worst defense I've ever seen. With no back up big we'll continue to suck.
if we play the worse defense you ever seen. what are the teams we're keeping up with playing? just as badly on defense. remember we're not getting blown out. it means these teams are allowing us the same layups/open 3's etc as we are allowing them. there is no difference from these teams we have played but a few more made shots or ft's.

I'm glad people do this, but it's not very effective since the OPs will just go back and edit/delete their posts when proven wrong. Anyway, this thread should be merged with the P&M thread.

The mods don’t need to do all the work, the OP should be the one that should understand what a ridiculous thread it is.

So how long before we get a TRADE LEBRON, HE'S A BUM tread.

Seriously, a significant part of the team is new. And 2 of our starters are second year players. And we don't really have a back up C.

It's going to take time for everything to come together. I'm sure our win total will start going up once we play eastern conference teams.

THis thread is hilarious. No reason to lock it, geezus. All he's saying is we could have 35-40 wins without Lebron, which is probably true! lol. Proof is in the pudding!

Yes, 1-5.

And Sacramento is 5-3. What’s your point?

That other teams’ records mean anything about our own or not?

Houstons record has no bearing on us. If they were 4-2 I wouldn’t feel any different about our team.

I mean, Golden State is 8-1 so what does that mean exactly? Squat.

Hopefully they will get a bit better on defense and commit less turnovers and maybe barely make the playoffs

@ Magic
@ Heat

How would the methodology be effected with the small sample size. Wouldn't Kings be rated a tougher opponent than Rockets at this point and other anomalies.

Knicks rated tougher opponent than Rockets. Pacers rated equally as tough as Warriors. Utah, Sac, Minnesota, Memphis all rated harder opponents than Blazers.

They will soon more than 34. I think the win total will be in the 40s and they will be fighting for 6 to 8 seed. Closer to 48-34 than 34-48. Add another max player next year and the win total goes in the 50s.

We won't make the playoffs ....38 wins is being generous... Hopefully this is an antijinx and it works in our favor... But this team is cooked man... Do we own our first round pick?

You can't mention the antijinx in an antijinx, then you're just jinxing it!

Yeah, I'm the crazy one who is overreacting to less than 30 games being played. People are freaking out for no reason.
