Raptors came in and basically made the Clippers their only competition for the services of Kawhi.

KL would be crazy to join the Lakers unless Uncle Dennis really has that Lakers tattoo imprinted on KL.

Yep. Smart move. Rondo tried something similar couple games ago.

I didn't agree with either one.

Lonzo was smart, Rondo was dumb. Score and time.
I think it was the opposite actually

Losing to Raps @ home w/o Kwahi. Garbage

They’re still a great team even without Kawhi. It was foolish to think that just because he wasn’t playing we were guaranteed a victory. They’re still a dangerous squad as you can see. Our complete lack of defense doesn’t help. As well as giving up 40+ in the first. Ugh. Bad loss.

Losing is one thing; we got completely handled the entire game. We only made it “close” at the end because a Toronto clowned us all night and let up off the gas with a big lead and little time left.

While Lowry rubbed it in our faces with his antics at the end after his banker. I hope this team remembers that the next time they play in Toronto. They let them clown us like this.

Big Shot Rob and Worthy both went for the "after an emotional game like Portland..."

We'll see what Luke has to say

On 15-17 shooting. Was like a video game for him.

I don’t even shoot 15-17 in 2k

He used the x y double tap and buffer button cheat!

He used game genie with the contra code!

Well I suppose we reversed the bad habit today...instead of being in the game and losing in 4th quarter we instead lost this in the first and were "in it" the rest of the way🤓😫😳😵 well "in it" if you didn't count the first quarter

Dead ass starts have been a specialty of theirs since most of last season. Blew a lot of games that way. Luke's staff can never seem to correct the recurrent bugaboos. They always come back. Next game they can go right back to a 4th Q meltdown, who knows. They blew a lot of good will that the Portland game woulda given em tonight.

Ebaka went for 34.
Need some PF and C defense.
Kawhi did not even play.

Lakers need to reevaluate.

Kuzma plays out of control.

Lakers need to make at least some assistant coaching changes.

I think a lot of us had this back to back as two losses. 1-1 is decent. Our next 3 games are very winnable and there is a decent chance that this time next week we will be 7-6 and on a roll.

No, god, no!

I was telling myself how I envied the Raptors defense. They made it hard for the Lakers to score in the paint even if their primary defender got beat. Their interior defense was absolutely solid.

On the other hand, the Lakers were like rag dolls who simply allowed layup drills and easy shots for the Raptors. My goodness. It was so bad.

LeBron is probably regretting leaving the East

The East is actually stronger this year. Toronto upgrading Derozan for Kawhi, the Celtics adding 2 injured all star players to their roster, Bucks young core growing up 1 more year and getting better.

The West has more good teams, and I'd take the 4 thru 9 best teams over the same teams in the East. However, are Toronto and Boston as good as the Rockets, Jazz, OKC, New Orleans, etc or are they at the same level?

EDIT no one is as good as Golden State this year. Denver I'm not sold on yet

Worst thing is Kuz turning into JC 2.0

The Lakers play better when they have spacing. Someone really needs to tell Ingram to shoot more 3s. His failure to put up those shots kills the starters spacing. Lonzo needs to be aggressive from the beginning of the game....no more excuses. This switch everything defense isn't allowing for much accountability....LeBron isnt interested in playing off ball defense...his man is usually wide open at the corner 3. I like Kuzmas aggression...he passes more willingly than Ingram. Hart's perimeter defense is mad overrated. His post defense is his strength. Kcp...Wtf happened to you???

I wonder how different this game would have been if Chandler was out there guarding the interior defense, Pretty freaking positive Ibaka doesn’t go bizzark from the arc and dunking all over the Lakers.

they switch so much...scouting will make sure to get our bigs on the weak side...javale has super length that makes up for our bad defensive schemes. It's a mistake to plan around that...because when he is out...we see what happens

Ibaka had 34 points. On 88% shooting.

Legend.
