Air pollution is linked to Autism

This is the kind of information you need to get the other side on board with cleaning up our air, water, etc. if they can't hear and understand climate change. fine. keep it simple, do you want your skies looking like shanghai? do you want your children to be born with autism?

Trump isn't autistic. Hes just dangerously incurious about the world around him and is a grade A asshat.

Would love to see the actual article with the numbers. This wouldn't be the first spurious study to link autism to something. Albeit this would be way less surprising and more in line with conventional thought.

Agreed. Pollution and vaccination are the two biggest drivers of the rise in autism among children. Parents need to start paying more attention and start pushing back.

All I'm saying is I haven't had a flu shot in like five years and haven't had the flu in that span either.

If you haven't been in a car accident in the last five years would you stop wearing a seat belt?

I hope these are all joke posts but the flu vaccine only covers half the strains out there and there are a lot of (bleep) strains.

The best defense against the cold/flu is to take preventative action to stop the spread of germs.

Yeah, we can basically count this in terms of millions of lives saved. Nirvana fallacy in full effect here.

The rest of what people are saying here....jeezus.

Seriously considering locking this thread and flushing it down the toilet -- I don't want LG to be the platform for bad advice that can have such serious consequences.

Curious if getting vaccinations all the time would weaken or strengthen your immune system

Anyone ever have adverse reactions to flu shots

I was for through 20s 30s and never saw a doctor for like 16 years iirc

Never had flu and only a few colds etc

But getting a shot is taking preventative action to stop the spread of germs.

And if there are a lot of strains and the flu vaccine is able to cover half of them, that’s a lot of strains that it is covering.

Last time I caught the flu after not getting a shot I was absolutely miserable. I was wishing I got a shot. If you’re worried about some rare adverse reaction to flu shots, what about your reaction to getting the flu? I know I didn’t enjoy the constant, extremely painful stomach pains, the constant vomiting, etc.

I rarely got sick and I still caught it.

Being afraid of the shot is silly. People act like they are going to cut your arm off. All they do is poke you and I barely even feel it. I get it every year and I think it’s a joke people are afraid of it. And of course it makes things easier for your immune system.

I'm not afraid to get a shot. I just dont like having to put something like this into my system on a constant basis.

I've only thrown up twice in last 30ish years from illness.Maybe it's all the moldy cheese I are as a kid?
One was food poisoning and I almost called the Coroner to sign my own death certificate.. No peace whatsoever during those days. Humbling to say the least

The article doesn't give anything specific about autism and the source material has a single tangential mention in their Conclusion:

Quote:
There are still many shortcomings with current researches. For example, some studies only collected data in the typical month of the season or even a few days in a typical month. Although the data could be representative, they may also be incidental. Nowadays, depression, autism and other psychological diseases frequently occur, however, little research of PM2.5 impact on mental health can be found in China. Most of the researches on the indoor and outdoor pollution correlations are conducted only for a specific building, i.e., under specific physical and meteorological condition [75,76,77,78,79], for example, in a residential apartment [75], or in an office building [76]. Although many useful results have been obtained from these studies, they depend largely on the experimental conditions at the time when data were collected and cannot be applied to more general situations.

Clickbait headline with nothing to back it up.
