He has the reflexes of a sloth and plays like he's got 50lb ankle weights on each leg. NBA is too fast for him.

He has situational use and can play in the NBA... just not on a team that emphasizes the amount of running/tempo that the Lakers do.

Yep. Chandler will be the backup center, but I’d continue to give Zubac chances as well. As long as he’s playing with Rondo, I still really, really like Zubac in the second unit, and I think it deserves a longer loook, even with Chandler in tow.

Then once McGee and Chandler miss games we go back to Kuzma at backup center.

I think the Zubac ship has officially sailed.
Bringing in Chandler shows the FO and staff dont have much faith in him to be a backup here.

I say cut the ties at the end of the year and best of luck to him.
He hasnt improved in the past year and a half and counting.

Big Zubac fan. But he should probably be waived when it’s buyout season & better fits become available.

We now have McGee/Chandler/Wagner+ Williams at Center

No point in waiving him now. Keep him as insurance.

Running and playing uptempo is the name of the game in the modern NBA. How many teams are there in the league that play at a slow enough pace for him to be comfortable? Even the ”slowest” teams in the league play with pace. But even aside from that, I don't think he’d magically look like a rotation player if he was on a team that walks the ball up.

I harped on it nonstop last year... Zubac needed to focus on the basics of just being a defender, rebounder, and rim runner first before putting in any time in at all trying to be next Hakeem in the post. He clearly didnt do this and now he is firmly out of rotation for two players who do just that without any real offensive game.

I know it's only one game but TC's intensity rebounding and defensive IQ will still be there even if his athleticism is not.

I rooted for Zubac as a rookie when he showed promise. It's just been downhill after his rookie season.

TC definitely brought it today.

Zubac's time is over. He's never stepping onto the court in meaningful minutes again in a Lakers uniform.

What kind of insurance were you thinking of? If everybody on the roster gets hurt?

McGee might be cashing it in after this season. Chandler might call it quits. If we keep Zubac, more likely for minimum. So I say hes still cheap as insurance policy or 3rd stringer next year.

So we should get our hopes up once again that he’ll finally pop next year? My goodness...how many years should he get?
