I suspect there's some kind of a smear campaign going on here but I'm glad we can put him behind us and focus on real candidates. He does nothing for Dem credibility going forward. Drop him and move on. |
My thought as well. However, setup or not, he obviously screwed up and took the bait. Glad he revealed himself to be a total fool before he was able to get too far into a presidential bid. |
I never thought of Avenatti as a Dem. He was always just an anti-Trump lawyer to me. I liked that he gave liberals and progressives hope of some check on Trump when Dems had no power. But the house is ours now. He served his purpose.
We know nothing about where he stands on actual issues. Maybe when it comes to policy he aligns more with traditional conservatives. I've yet to hear him criticize Republicans outside of Trump related issues. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/14/technology/facebook-data-russia-election-racism.html Quote: | While Mr. Zuckerberg has conducted a public apology tour in the last year, Ms. Sandberg has overseen an aggressive lobbying campaign to combat Facebook’s critics, shift public anger toward rival companies and ward off damaging regulation. Facebook employed a Republican opposition-research firm to discredit activist protesters, in part by linking them to the liberal financier George Soros. It also tapped its business relationships, lobbying a Jewish civil rights group to cast some criticism of the company as anti-Semitic. |

In CA-39, Young Kim's lead over Gil Cisneros is down to a mere 132 votes. I think it was 711 yesterday. We could very well see Cisneros take the lead tomorrow, and Politico has the race as "Lean Dem."

I looked up the process for a first-time handgun buyer in Calif who can actually pass the parameters and it was so much crap that it made a DMV wait look good by comparison. If I ever decide to buy a gun, I'm gonna try craigslist, f it. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Esquire: An Exhaustive Timeline of Our New Acting Attorney General's Astoundingly Crooked Career
Quote: | Trump has appointed an unscrupulous grifter to be Acting Attorney General of the United States, because that is exactly the kind of person he attracts. He does this because he thinks he can get away with it. His base, and the spineless Republicans in the Senate, will let him. Will the rest of us? |
It's even worse than we thought. Most law firms wouldn't hire someone like this both because of his lack of experience and knowledge of the law, and then the grifting. I don't even know how he passed a background check. I suspect he didn't, because the Trump administration doesn't actually vet people. They just hire people they see on TV and cronies and friends of cronies. And 99% of them are involved in their own mini corruption scandals. |

Remember how Trump basically "confessed" to Lester Holt that the reason he fired Comey was because of the Russia investigation? Well he does it again here when talking about replacing Sessions with Whitacker. Thy ask him about his thinking on hiring Whitacker, then unprompted he immediately starts talking about how the (Mueller) investigation is illegal and should never have been brought. And someone should tell him Mueller has been Senate confirmed many times. And he met with Whitacker many times over the last year because Sessions sent him to brief Trump and it was John Kelly who inserted Whitacker as Sessions' assistant in the first place. Trump lies all the time but every once in a while he accidentally blurts out the truth. I don't think he has the mental capacity nor the inclination to even try to discern truth from lies. It's all the same to him.
Quote: | Brian Beutler @brianbeutler
Note that just yesterday, two Daily Caller propagandists lobbed Trump a softball about potential Whitaker replacements, and Trump, unprompted, confessed that Whitaker's appointment was all about Mueller. |

You know indictments must be coming because Trump is on a Tweet storm today about: Mueller, Hillary, angry Democrats "colluding" with Russia, witch hunts, illegal investigation, Obama, talking about Mueller trying to ruin lives, about how history will reveal the real corruption inside the Mueller investigation. He's unhinged, sweating bullets and spewing lie after unhinged lie. |

Aside from all the projection that amounts to confession, the quote that CL posted just shows how little he knows about how government works. Mueller doesn't need to be Senate confirmed to serve as special counsel.
I'm really hoping at this point that we can give thanks next week that the indictments have started flowing. Should make for wonderful talk around the Thanksgiving table for so many American families. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. It's also the repetition that is remarkable. There are probably close to a 100 tweets over the last few months that have said the same thing about Mueller. He rearranges the word salad, but it's always the same message. It's a brainwashing operation in real time and it's no wonder that his fans behave the way they do. _________________ ¡Hala Madrid! |

With NBC News now projecting that Dem Jared Golden has ousted incumbent GOP Rep. Bruce Poliquin in Maine-2, this means the partisan tally for New England House seats will be:
Dems: 21
Repubs: 0
Of the 12 US Senate seats in New England, 1 will be GOP-held:
Susan Collins.

After her Kavanaugh vote, I'd say Collins is gone in 2020. womp womp |

Here in Nevada you just go in and pay for the weapon then come back later after the background check...It's been more than a decade but I think it took about 90 minutes |

Shakes head.... even the sista has that voter suppression-itus she must have caught from the republican party.

Utah Republican behind in tight race sues to halt vote count
Quote: | SALT LAKE CITY — Republican U.S. Rep. Mia Love sued Wednesday to halt vote counting in the Utah race where she is trailing her Democratic challenger by a razor-thin margin, saying her campaign must be allowed to challenge mail-in ballot verification.
In a contest where "every single vote is crucial," the Love campaign claimed poll watchers have seen a few cases where ballots were approved even if voter signatures did not appear to match those on file in Democratic-leaning Salt Lake County.
Democratic challenger Ben McAdams shot back that the lawsuit "smacks of desperation," saying in a statement that elections officials, not candidates, decide what votes should count. |
Quote: | Love's campaign is "not accusing anyone of anything," but they believe a few instances deserve more scrutiny, campaign attorney Robert Harrington said in a statement. Voting is done primarily by mail in Utah.
County Clerk Sherrie Swenson, a Democrat, didn't return messages seeking comment. Results her office released Wednesday night sliced into McAdam's lead, putting Love less than half a percentage point, or 900 votes, behind him. Her campaign manager Dave Hansen cheered the news, saying she is on a "path to victory."
A judge is set to hear arguments on Thursday. |
