Tough tough...Parker clanks and open three only to have Nash nail one after an offensive rebound.
Lakers are really playing good D today, but Phoenix got hot fromthe outside at the end. Not to mention Kobe is had a sub-par game. |

Offense was not the problem today -- some nice balanced shooting. Yes one or two shots should have gone in or Lamar should've hit his FTs or Smush should've hit his 3pt look or the refs should've whistled PHX on the play late with Kobe but in the final analysis PHX score 107 pts. All the damage was done in the 1st qtr.
Defense will be the name of the game here -- nice efforts in the 2nd & 3rd qtr but the 1st qtr was a disaster. |

The Good:
Game pace was good most of the game as Phoenix only had 10 fast break points.
Rebounding was very good with 10 more offensive rebounds
Excellent balance to the scoring (everyone but Kobe & Cook had a good offensive game)
Bad:
Too many fouls giving Phoenix 35 free throws
Missed to many good looks at the basket both from the perimeter and around the basket.
Too many turnovers trying to enter the ball into the post.
Ugly:
Could not find what it takes to win the game.
Critical missed foul by the refs at the end of the game. I can understand missing one every once in a while, but that one was critical. |

I think the refs totally sucked. Kobe comes away with a big ole' knot on his head and no call. There was the call when Marion had his feet in the restricted area and Odom got called for the charge. It's all so one sided it makes me sick. For a while there all the calls were going against the Lakers.
So will it change in game two?
Also, I HATED the way the commentators were all about the Suns when the Suns were up, then all about the Lakers when the Lakers were surging in the third. The coverage on ABC seemed so skewed for most of it, too. I'm sick of all the hatin'. _________________ I love LA........WE LOVE IT! |

My only problem with the offense is dumping it into Kwame and jacking 3s. I personally thinks it makes ZERO sense against a team like this. I'd rather not run anything for Kwame and have Lamar in there or Kobe driving. Kwame is gonna get the calls and when he does, he's not a great FT shooter.
Also, why settle for 3s with this team? _________________ "My thirst for domination is fed only by the game. I refuse to get distracted by outside forces." - Kobe Bryant |
