The Love that came home.

But in all seriousness. Will he have a better rookie season than Shaqey Mouse? Right now it’s a draw.

that was my thought after watching today. I have always thought he would have to be a stretch 5.....but I think he will have to be a stretch 4. I do not think he will ever be able to defend the rim or 5 spot. Not sure I saw beautiful offense....he made a couple open shots which is great, but did not get to see him really have the opportunity to demonstrate much more once his obvious early nerves subsided.

I'm really curious on how he will do with a pick n pop with Bron, just like what Bron did to Bosh and K.Love. You are right that the Kid is better as a PF, i also notice that he is having a hard time against big Centers, but they can use him too as Center against team that is using small ball lineup.

"Beautiful" was hyperbole, but for his first extended run in the pros, his guard skillset popped - I was most impressed by the dribble drive against Ayton where he got fouled. And that's opened up by defenders respecting his simple jumper.

I'm not ready to write him off defensively yet, at least as a backup C - he broke up the lob to Holmes nicely, and some of his issues on that end could be mitigated by strength training and more on-court experience. But he's going to have to get it done with precise rotations, motor, quick hands, and nastiness a la Zaza Pachulia since he'll never be much of a rim protector.

If he can average 26/13/4 with 2.5 3s (37%) at age 25, then yes

He's gonna take a while to develop. He's pretty big but gets pushed around easily on defense. Love his energy and his offensive skillset.

He was the steal of the draft. I still can't believe after his performance in the tournament, he didn't go higher. Just wait until he gets his legs underneath him, his defense will improve as the season goes along, mainly due to his wind improving. ROY material.

I think Chaning Frye could end up being a good comp/path for Moe. Volume 3pt shooting role player, can give you 25 mpg and work hard on both ends. Solid positional defense, a little passing, stay on the floor as long as you're working hard on the glass. Be a good teammate.

Mo could replace Kuzma as the starting power forward of the future if Kuzma happens to get traded. For example, Pelicans or Raptors would want everything but he kitchen sink for AD or KL. We would still need spacing around those guys. Bi/Ball and Kuz could even end up being sent to Charlotte in a surprising deal surrounding Kemba Walker. We would still need the spacing, so it's good that Wagner is a stretch 4/5.

With Ingram gone probably a couple games, I would try to experiment with Mo at the 4 rather than put Svi out there.

McGee-Chandler
Kuzma-Mo
Lebron-KCP
Hart-KCP/Lance
Lonzo-Lance

Yeah Mo should get some time in now. See what he can do with some rotation minutes.

the Lakers coaches should be forcing Mo and Zubak to shadow Mcgee and Chandler in every practice. We need that grit and toughness to rub onto these 2 pups.

These guys need to get stronger on their base like Chandler. They need to pick apart Chandler head and learn how to play D and cut off players. McGee will look for money next year so he’s a goner. Mo is more mobile so he’s gonna be in rotation at some point of his career.

Box score says 5 points and 3 boards with 1 triple in 7 minutes. Didn’t get to watch the fourth. How’d he look?

Can he defend? There was a play in the 3rd where Beal was driving for the layup and Mo jumped backwards and out of the way.

He had some nice challenges on Wall in the second quarter. He’s shown some signs, which is all you can ask for from a late round rookie.

Nor surprisingly, looks like he can produce offensively with adequate PT. At the very worst, they drafted a decent stretch 4/5 with a serviceable offensive skill set ~ maybe a 16-20 ppg ceiling. Scoring is always valuable, but defense is typically what keeps rookies on the floor. It's nice to have Svi and Wager when key guys are missing, though they have a few years to go in terms of gaining that defensive experience.
