Jahlil Okafor with a jump shot. I'm not super excited about him as a draft prospect, but he should be a really tough cover in college.

Solid updated mock from Wasserman at B/R: Link.

He has the Lakers taking raw Texas rim protector Jaxson Hayes (6'11 220).

Is he a good communicator?
Does his voice project?
Can he think on the fly?
I realized that good defensive bigs need to be great communicators on the floor.

He looks as lazy as Okafor on defense on the vids I have watched.

I watched him a decent amount at the end of last season because a player on his team had committed to WVU (Trey Doomes '18), and I was not that impressed with Carey either. The kid that kind of wowed me on that team was a Sophomore last year...so should be a Junior this year....Scottie Barnes.

Syracuse verbal commit Class of '20....#1 player in FL, #1 SF, #3 in US

The 2020 NBA draft (2019 seniors) looks like one to trade out of if the Lakers do make a move for Beal or AD or whoever. I like Cole Anthony and some of the international kids early on, but there's a real lack of depth unless a bunch of guys stay in college this year.

I need to check out Barnes. I know he's been hyped up as a real talented scorer.

No idea. Draftniks whose scouting I like thought he would be a 2-3 year project and he seems to get lost a bit based on the one half I saw him play in (UT v. UNC). But he may be switchable as well as a rim protector, which is tougher to find.

Anyway, a kid to monitor and he should have a number of good matchups in the Big-12. Cuz right now I don't have any strong opinions about him.

not sure what that tournament was...but it was the supposed high school national championship....and Barnes was a Sophomore while Doomes was a Senior and Carey was a Junior.....in my opinion, Barnes was clearly the best player on the court in every game they played. If I recall, they lost the championship game.

I kind of like that Bruno Fernando's projection is so low right now. Didn't have the greatest game yesterday, but at least is showing signs of shooting ability. Needs help with passing work, but he's just a PnR dive man on offense anyway.

But, that dude can motor defensively, and I definitely think he has the length and the feet to switch to guards and show some effectiveness. More of an NBA body too. He seeks box outs, if anything, overrotates on defense (but I appreciate the awareness), and has solid steal/block/rebounding rates across the board.

So projects (albeit very early) is a Julius/Clint mix?

More like Montrezl Harrell if he was taller. Harrell had all world strength for his size though.

Sags Konate had somewhat of a vintage "Sags" game today....16 Points, 9 Rebounds and 7 Blocks.

Two Handed Pin Against the Backboard!

Come fly with Sags

he has not been good overall this year....unless he starts showing more of this, I would stay away from him until maybe mid 2nd Round.

Admiral Schofield was a beast today against Gonzaga....30 points (6 of 10 from 3).
