I thought the Gus/Jones fight was a slow race of the ring rusted. Jones thawed first. Actually, Gus looked like he couldn’t pull the trigger.

Me and the cous were saying the same thing!

Doesn't gus have a respectable kicking game? If so he didn't show it at all.

When we first started sparring with kicks it was so hard for me to get in boxing range. It looked similar to how Gus was getting handled tonight. He could not get inside of Jones kicking range, and obviously was trying to avoid the fight going to the ground as well. tough to win when you only have 1 superior skill

To my pedestrian eyes, this version of Jones looked much less super human.

22, fear of takedown is my guess as to why Gus didn’t commit to kicks.

I’m not quite sure what the future holds for Jones. If JB’s experience has any bearing on PPV #’s, people may be getting over him. I’ve got a suspicion, DC May chose not to fight him again, collect them ludicrous Brock bucks and ride off joyfully into the sunset. Denying Bones the massive cheese he’d get from a trilogy fight, on top of usurping that Lesnar payday, may very well appeal to Cormier.

A couple more thoughts:

- Fully expecting MMA World to put a Tarverdyan “HEAD MOVEMENT!!” overdub over video of Nunes slam man treatment of Cyborg.

- How much does this boost the stock of Valentina Shevchenko?

- (bleep) DLH should come back at Dana for allowing BJ Penn to keep fighting.

I wish I could root for Jones. He is an all time great and I just can't. Will Anthony Smith be his next test? Think he can stay clean and avoid getting in trouble long enough?

Amanda is the real thing. Her last six wins are Shevchenko, Tate, Rousey, Shevchenko, Pennington and now Cyborg.

I love how Amanda fights, ferocity, and just unbelievable striking precision and quality. She saw blood and was as ruthless as they come in going for the kill. Gotta love that (bleep).

Thought JJ looked good too, that one never seemed in doubt. Jones did a great job of keeping Alex at range, then eventually picked his spot and got the takedown. Jon made a lot of adjustments since the first fight, while Alex just fought the same way.

Michael Chiesa looked good beating Condit. Alexander Volkanovski looked good beating Mendes.

Yesterday they said that the UFC has a new exclusive contract with ESPN. Starting on January 1st 2019.

This Brooklyn card is pretty decent! (Makes sense since the Anaheim card had to die for it lol)

Who do y’all got?

Cejudo vs Dillashaw - still too early for me but my guess is the weight cut will affect tj more. Cejudo will try hold him down like he did DJ, but I think TJ will be prepared. At this juncture I’m going with TJ by submission

Think TJ is guna destroy him.

Nunes was so amazing, and Gus looked aged in the legs..guess it was the groin injury
Can’t wait for Nunes Cyborg 2, Dana gotta do it

I think Dillashaw takes it. He just looks so incredibly complete right now. That said, I wouldn't bet the house. Cejudo is obviously very good at what he does, so it could come down to who slept better the night before

TJ too big for Cejudo, and too well rounded. I'd imagine he wins via KO/TKO in first or second round.

Does it piss you guys off that takedowns are weighed so heavily by the judges in ufc rn? If a guy is doing damage or getting submission attempts from it then I understand, but literally laying on top and doing zero damag shouldn’t count for much imo. That’s why I thought DJ won their second fight

Yeah. The Tito lay and pray era was just AWFUL.

His striking is light years better too imo. I think TJ starches him. Anyone knows what the odds are?

TJ about a -210 favorite on most sites.

What do you guys think about Ryan Hall? There’s almost no incentive for anyone to fight him. To beat him the fight is going to be very boring cuz he’s gonna lay on ground a lot. And if he catches you you could easily be needing knee surgery. Plus you get almost no credit for beating him.

It won’t happen but I’d love to see him vs Ortega next

Looks like it’ll be Woodley bs Usman on March 2nd as the Co-main to Bones vs Anthony smith if bones can get licensed in Nevada.

I don’t even like Colby but it’s messed up how the ufc does their match making. I think what it is is Dana wants Woodley out of there. Colby has almost no chance to beat him but Usman does have a shot. Tyron better make sure this doesn’t go to a decision.

Looking forward to Jones vs Smith.

Alias Smith and Jones was a TV show when I was young.
