Knicks played the Nuggets pretty tough on Tuesday. This will not be a cakewalk.

Preview: Knicks (9-29) at Lakers (21-17)

...Coincidentally, getting production out of their big men has been the least of
the Knicks' problems of late.

Luke Kornet, who had started one game previously in his NBA career, has gotten the call in the last three and put up big numbers, averaging 18.7 points while shooting 51 percent from the field overall and 63 percent on 3-pointers.

Kornet has been so good, Knicks coach David Fizdale has elected to bring arguably his best player, Enes Kanter, off the bench.

That did not go well for two games, during which Kanter totaled just eight points and wondered aloud why he'd been demoted. But he responded in Monday's loss at Denver with 17 points and 12 rebounds in 20 minutes.

"The only thing I learned from my career, you have to stay together," Kanter expressed to reporters recently. "You cannot fall apart. You need that one, two, three guys to bring the positive energy in the locker room. If you're losing, everybody is shaking their head, everybody is depressed. You need that guy to bring that positive energy, keep that energy up, make people laugh."

The meeting will be the first of the season between the Knicks and Lakers. James' one and only trip to New York is scheduled for March 17.

Kanter also seems to have a big game against the Lakers, I agree, Lakers need to be careful or this could end up being a big time trap game.

There's no excuse for us to lose to the Knicks. Plus, they need some help to win the Zion Williamson sweepstakes, so let's lend them a helping hand!

With LeBron out, it's not a trap game. Winning it is a toss up.

Even if Kuz plays, he's likely not even 70% so I don't know about this one.

Their 'big games' on average are not going to be enough, their performances need to be better than what we consider big from them.
If we want the W those 2 either have to reach new 'big' heights or a team effort is necessitated, I think the latter is more likely.

Definitely going to take a team effort. The Knicks have played decent ball lately but we MUST protect home turf. The Knicks are going DOWN!

Will not be easy tonight. Even with Knicks record.

A loss may lead to a move, not a major trade but maybe some help. The top of the bracket in the west is starting to separate...you don’t want a dogfight for 7/8 with Utah, Mavs, Kings, etc.

Playoffs are an absolute must this season.

Tanking team doesn't mean anything. They still play hard and have pride.

bottom 5 slots in the NBA are tight but it would be a nice win for a tanking team...

Any little boo boo means a player will miss the game according to our medical staff.

Tons of players play thru minor injuries except anyone on this team.

The Knicks are currently on a 8 game losing streak, I don’t see us losing this game. I really rish we had Rondo, we desperately need another ball handler.

Per Trudell

Expecting Ball, KCP, Ingram, Hart
and McGee to start tonight. NYK is currently starting a stretch 5 (Luke Kornet) and a bigger 4 (Noah Vonleh), so we could see McGee stay closer to the rim (Vonleh) and Hart venture out to Kornet on many possessions.
