Much better coach than Luke. Thibs just as a coach no GM powers is very good. He got screwed by Jimmy Butler becoming a cancer. He's only had 1 season where he finished below .500 while Luke has shown nothing so far.

Yeah, uh, no.

Yeah, uh, yes. I couldnt give a (bleep) less about Luke’s “progressive” hip style when the results are terrible. Thibs might be an old school coach but he has a way better coaching record and gets more out of his players than Pukey

He may be better than Luke in the same way that Del Taco is better than Taco Bell

Nobody boxes out consistently. That’s either a failure of the defensive scheme or a failure of the coach holding them accountable for it.

No it’s like comparing a good steakhouse (Thibs) to Chipotle (Luke). Are you ignoring Thibs entire coaching career? He’s proven way more than Luke has even in yr 3 of his HC career. Even as an assistant Thibs was way better than Luke.

It is truly in bizarro land that Thibs' team crushes the Lakers and he gets fired and meanwhile, Luke "Clueless Schemes and Rotation" Walton still has a job.

Guys aren't boxing out. Guys aren't competing defensively. But that's not on Luke right? So why is that there are coaches out there that always have great offensive schemes or defensive schemes no matter what the roster turnaround is?

Yes I agree but so far this franchise has whiffed BADLY on coaches since Phil. So right now I’ll be happy with Thibs over Pukey

I'm high on the core, real high, but I'm still unsure about Luke as coach. Glad I'm not making the decision because I think it'll be a real important decision to make for next year, which will be winning time!

Not possible. I learned here he can’t make in game adjustments.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but most ex-coaches wind up as bench coaches on other teams,

So why not hire Thibs as the Defense Coach, Walton still gets to be the man and Thibs gets to go back to his roots, after reading about his downfall most of it came/started as he was also the GM, so you take away him picking bad players, you take away him over playing his best players and you have him get this young team on the right defensive track...

He might take it, thinking, if Walton gets fired he can slide right in...

This would be a fantastic move if it somehow happens. Doubtful though.

Agree. Loved the quick hook on Lance when he didn't box out. Really liked that he called out his guys last game to light a fire under them. In the second half tonight, he broke his sub pattern, tightened the rotation and kept guys who were rolling on the floor (props to playing Hart all second half as he earned it). Also props on that stretch of extended run for Chandler.

We also let Beasley go to work tonight with the ball in his hands. Took advantage of bad defenders. Great lob play set up to have Dirk trying to defend Lonzo on a lob dunk on that backscreen.

Finally, also he had some situational subs at the end of the game to get Lonzo out (because of FT shooting)...but also get him back in the game for defensive purposes. So many times this season we haven't done that.

Or, you can call him out when he has a bad game (like I did yesterday)... and give him props when he has a good one (like tonight). It's really not that difficult.

That's because everyone wants to get them rebound stats.

Great job using only one center at a time. Lol
Good to have Kuz back.
And I'm enjoying Beasley as the backup 4.
