We can possibly be 24-19 by Friday night if we take care of business.

Nice. Gives a better chance.

It sucks when one of our playoff competitors play a tanking team.

Thank you Timberwolves?

It's a win-lose situation but I was rooting for Minny.

Yes, Thunder losing was good for us, especially if we can put together a winning streak.

Good thing, I guess, since the Lakers have a habit of making Rubio look like Steph Curry when he plays against us.

I've seen our team put up enough stinkers against sub-500 teams that I never expect a win against anyone. And that was even with Lebron.

I can't believe you guys are still rooting against the top seeds over the teams that could push the Lakers out of the playoffs altogether. Minnesota > OKC is a bad result. The Lakers are probably going to fall out of the playoffs altogether pretty soon.

Agree. Teams like OKC, Nuggets and GSW are locks for the playoffs.

Need Dallas, Minnesota, Sac, Utah, Nola to lose.

Phoenix beating Sac is much needed. 2 games up on Sac now.

We're 3.5 games behind OKC and 2 games ahead of Minny.

We're just as capable of catching up to OKC as Minny is capable of catching up to us.

Who's to say we can't catch OKC?

Their schedule is BRUTAL.

Have the toughest remaining schedule and it's not even close.

Have you seen the Lakers play lately? Every win seems like a monumental achievement for the team without LeBron.

I'm not sure the Lakers are automatically going to go on a long winning streak once LeBron gets back either. The Lakers were 2-4 leading up to the Golden State game. The team has definite issues outside of just missing LeBron.

After their 2-5 start, which is when Lebron started changing the way he played, the Lakers were 18-9

I'm no longer playing the "if we take care of business" game. We have failed at every stretch this year that seemingly presented an "opportunity," and that's even with Lebron. We were supposed to revenge the Orlando lost at home. We were supposed to go 3-1 on the last 4 game road trip, but went 1-3. And recently, we were not supposed to lose to the Knicks.

This team is anything, but a "taking care of business" type squad. I'm no longer looking at the schedule to assume wins.

John Salley believes the Warriors are imploding. When he won 2 championships with the Bad Boys, and they were going for their third, "it was the worst". "It was the dumbest jealousies. We had team meetings over who had too many commercials." He went on to say the fact that the media got hold of the KD/Draymond thing is a problem and that Draymond got suspended because you don't go outside.

He also said the Showtime Lakers are better than the current Warriors

Orlando had a 63-46 lead at half in Utah.

It’s now 75-69 late in 3rd...smh at trash teams. Lost twice to these clowns.

Crazy how the Lakers are 3 games off the 2nd worst record in the West.

A string of bad losses and we could easily be 2nd worst record.

The Pelicans are still 3 games out of a playoff spot, and have had the fortune of having their last 3 games come against the Cavs, a reeling Grizzlies team, and the Cavs again. Their next 5 games are on the road, against, in order: Minnesota, the Clippers, Golden State, Portland, and Memphis. Then they get a home game against the Pistons (a likely win), but after that, here are their next 6 games: at OKC, vs Spurs, at Houston, vs Nuggets, at Spurs, vs Pacers. They could very, very easily go something like 4-8 over their next 12. If so, that would put them at 24-30 as they go into their Feb. 6 game at the Bulls, the last game they play before the Trade Deadline. We are in 8th right now, with a 23-19 record (.548 winning %). If you give the 8th seed an approximate .548 winning % through 54 games, that comes out to about 30-24, meaning that the Pels could find themselves 6 games out of a playoff spot on Feb. 6.

So if you are rooting for AD to become available, keep rooting for Pelicans losses. That's rule #1. They won't move him this season if they are still realistically in the playoff chase. Six games back might cause them to be open to making the inevitable more of a sooner reality.
