It's crazy how Rose, Beasley, and Mayo were the three most hyped prospects in that draft but all three turned out to be busts (though not really sure you can call Rose a bust) and it was actually Westbrook who was the best player in that draft. People were also shocked that Minnesota traded a potential superstar in O.J. Mayo for Kevin Love.

Why did Beasley turn out to be a bust when he was one of the greatest college freshmen (26.2 PPG) of all time?

Nice to see Beasley play like himself. His mother's illness explains a lot of why he was so bad in preseason / early season.

You can’t call players that had severe injuries a bust. In his prime, rose was the best player in basketball (MVP)

How can you call Rose a bust when he won a freaking MVP award for God's sakes????
Rose was a superstar at one point, the other 2 had their moments and have extensive NBA careers.

OJ Mayo averaged 18.5pts, 4rebs, 3 ast in his rookie year @21 years old. He literally dropped off each year after that. Anybody know what the hell happened to him?

Beasley averaged 19pts/6rebs/2ast in his 3rd year @22 years old and started dropping off drastically after that.

So was Tyson Chandler.
Once we get KD next year, we'll have the best #2 ever.

mayo was never all that if you ask me. he had some game but i never saw what others saw in him.

Rose was the MVP did you forget? the knees destroyed his game.

lets say rose stays healthy. Overall he would be a better player than westbrook because he could lead his team without any other superstar to a battle with Bron in the ECF's. OKC and westbrook have yet to do that without another star in tow.

Beasley had some drug issues i believe. But also, in the nba he was no longer bigger than most people. so he had to transition his game from being a power forward with dribbling ability and shooting ability who would post guys up like crazy in college. into a Small forward who would occasionally post up and mostly face up on offense.

Beasley and Durant are best friends. Durant accidentally dropped his weed in front of TMZ. Since it’s Durant though, no one is going to say (bleep). Just like Lebron showing up to Staples with a glass of wine. Anyone else, they’ll be some false demonstration of justice.

Last 4 games in a total of 53 minutes he has a total of 57 points...

He scored 6 points in 4 minutes at the start of the 4th period then was pulled, why? The lakers were starving for more offensive push.
Hart and his %29 FG and 19% from 3 in the last 7 games to the rescue.... The lakers should be going with Beasley, give him more minutes...

Also Luke had him playing C... Should have inserted him in the 3rd when they needed scoring so bad.

The sudden Beasley craze is the exact reason why everyone said this would be the hardest team to coach in the league at he beginning. Besides shooting of course.

Yeah all these guys can play just inconsistently.

According to Reddit Beasley's close friend was shot dead. Can't find confirmation but would explain his sad instagram post

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsw_qRrHWmt/

So he was probably a bit out of it concerning his shorts

It would explain a lot. That effing sucks. Reminds me of the (bleep) Lamar went through with seemingly one tragedy after another hitting him.
