I don't think he is done "totally"..... He will have his good spurts. But it's the bad spurts I worry about outdoing the good ones. Plus cutting the time of players I would rather see get more experience.

I was thinking...what if this was all planned and for the past two months Carmelo has been getting healthy and in shape? Wishful thinking.

LeBron says he could elevate Melo's game. He also said he know Melo better than Melo himself. Do you guys think he can get Melo back to his old self?

Beasley is shooting 54% on the year. Melo is at 40% over the past two seasons.

That said, maybe he will open up the floor.

Melo couldn't do it with his buddy Chris Paul in a Mike D'Antoni offense, why would it be any difference here?

Don't get me wrong, I've always been a Melo fan.

But the point is it's been too long since he's posted decent production. It's not like he's been on a slump and LeBron will help him out of it. The guy is just an old, washed up player. Not everybody ages well like LeBron, Melo is just done.

LBJ takes care of his body like no other. Guys like Melo, less so, so the dramatic decline is more apparent. Just hard to get it back at that age.

Melo's shooting has been in steep decline the last two years -- even his free throwing has fallen.

The guy turns 35 in a few months, so no reason to think he'll have a sudden resurgence.

If you look at him as player today, rather than as a name based on his past accomplishments, it's hard to see why you give him any time over Beasley.

Same.

Unfortunately we need Ingram as a piece to move for a big fish.

So you'd prefer an old piece of meat that was cooked but is now full of mold over an uncooked piece of meat?

Not to mention he is going to make our defense even worse.

We don’t have to trade BI to get Melo. But with the way the team is constructed, and what’s left, we need old but still edible jerky to uncooked meat. Got to eat this season, especially with the playoff in question with the injuries.
