I don't know if any team could beat GS if KD stays. Maybe KL and Lebron could.
I agree. That's why if we don't get KD or Kawhi. Maybe we would've been better off keeping the young core together.
I say maybe because I'm not sure DLO and Randle are the same players they are now. If they stayed here.
They both are playing with a chip on their shoulder. And I'm wondering what that chip would be, if we never let them go. I guess a big contract? But that's not the same as being let go from the most popular franchise in league history.
I don't think Dlo and Randle would be good enough to beat GS.
Agreed. The argument for DLO and Randle is. By the time they hit their prime GS would have aged, split up, and/or faded away (somehow). Like 2-3 years from now.
Maybe but I'm not convinced they are #1 or #2 option players on a championship contender.
But it will be interesting to see a lineup of
Ball (Tatum)
DLO
Ingram
Randle
Zubac
With Kuzma, Nance, Clarkson and Svi on the bench.
We will probably add one more lottery pick then we can start a deep playoff run with veteran free agents.
Honestly Oladipo shouldn't have been playing at all. From watching the games, he CLEARLY wasn't the same guy as last year, couldn't blow by anyone, barely had any highlight plays. Not like he's playing for a contract, he should have sat out until he was fully healthy.
Exactly it's depressing and all u could think of was what trade I can make with Indy
Sigh
I feel where you're coming from but what is he supposed to do? Nothing going to change the situation. He's not dead dude. He got injured.
Lol I get that. But it's surprising to me IG would immediately think of a trade
Because KCP can be a guy who can ease some of the pain of losing Oladipo,
My thought is still with him hopefully having no leg damage.
What’s your trade proposal then? KCP for Evans? We need shooters on our lineup. Although his shooting percentage is not pretty, his 3&d style fits with our system. Pacers are not giving us their 1st round pick for KCP. So what’s our motivation to make a trade with them?

I have no idea what a trade would look like, just saying that KCP or even Dennis Smith Jr can be guys that can duplicate some of Oladipo’s offense.

The Pacers have both Collison and Joseph, so I wonder if they might be willing to part with one of those two guys, perhaps for KCP. Obviously KCP isn't as good as Oladipo, but Indiana is still something like 4-5 points per 100 possessions better than their opponents with Oladipo OFF the court this season. They will still be an obvious playoff team in the East and might even win a round in the playoffs. Collison is the older player so perhaps they would prefer to keep Joseph. There are other ways to try to get Collison without giving up KCP, as the combo of Lance and Beasley's salaries total almost $8MM, while Collison makes $10MM. The Pacers wanted Lance back last summer and he's a fan favorite there, so it's not outlandish to think that they wouldn't have interest in bringing him back.
It remains to be seen if they would trade with us after the Paul George stuff, but on paper, there could be a match between the Lakers and Pacers.

waaay too big a risk to wait until 2020 off season. There is NOTHING in that free agency besides AD. Our best bet is to load up on the best talent we can get in this coming offseason along with resigning Zu. If we can turn around and trade for AD in 2020 season, amazing!. If not we are still a strong team with lots of depth.
I see a decent amount of feasible combinations of FA hauls that could make us big championship contenders even if we miss out on Kawhi, Durant, Klay. (As long as Durant leaves the Warriors). We cant skip out on that just for a chance to get AD yet another season away.
I agree that we cannot afford to wait for AD in 2020. It would just mean losing Ingram for nothing and wasting 2 years of Lebron. But I do think that we need Durant or Leonard. We cannot just slap on a couple B- parts and be title contenders. We need another superstar. A person to lead us post lebron. If we just sign Middleton and Vuc/Cousins or something, it would be decent for this window but nothing after that. Maybe they would be decent to be used for an AD trade? But I'm assuming that if we signed Middleton and pulled him away from the Bucks its near a max contract and maybe New Orleans doesn't see much value in it. But lets face it no one in this young core is going to be a superstar. There is no Luka, Embiid, KAT, Giannis on this roster. _________________ https://www.landofbasketball.com/player_comparison/brandon_ingram_vs_tim_thomas.htm Brandon "Fool's Gold" Ingram https://www.landofbasketball.com/player_comparison/brandon_ingram_vs_darius_miles.htm

TOO SOON!
I'm with IG on this one, it's never too soon to think about stuff like this. The fact is that Indiana is going to have to make some tough decisions now. Their best player is almost certainly out for the year, but they are in 3rd place in the East and have a pretty solid, deep team. Do they want to just sell off every single expiring asset they have and pick up some draft picks? (Though I don't think they can get any 1st round picks for what they have as expirings, unless they take back a bad contract.) Or do they want to move one or two of those expirings and get a playable wing player back and try to do as best as they can for the rest of the year? If they go into full-on sell mode, then they can market Bogdanovich, Collison, Joseph, Thaddeus Young, Evans, and maybe even Kyle O'Quinn. They could even try to do something like trade one or more of their guys and take back a bad contract that expires next year and pick up a 1st round pick out of it. Just off the top of my head, Houston could offer Brandon Knight (who expires next year) and a 1st for Bogdanovich.

I feel like teams get extra perky when a star player is reportedly interested in joining the Lakers.
If I'm a star player who wants to join the Lakers, I'd come out and say that I "don't want to play for the Lakers."
Kawhi “I don’t want to play in Lebron’s shadow, Lakers a distant third.” and KD “Environment around Lebron is toxic.” must be genius then
Yeah. Well, KL asked for LA and was sent by Pop to Toronto. KD will never be traded.
But if I'm AD, I say publicly that he hates LBJ and LA and wants nothing with that wretched city.
In contrast, Klay is still saying he will stay in GS...
he also said he is not giving the Warriors a discount...
And they can pay him a lot more than we can
key word is "can"... Durant said he wants as much money as possible. The Warriors cant say no to that so if he signs Super Max they will be insanely deep in luxury tax to also max out Klay.
Durant can’t get the Super max, just the 35% max. They will be deep in luxury tax, that is what it takes to contend these days. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
