More worried that the Lakers will fall short of a title with a team built around an aging Lebron and an often dinged up AD, and then after Lebron leaves having to rebuild around Davis making $50M per while winning 35-40 games a season stuck in mediocrity hell. _________________ Under New Management |

I mean are we not in mediocrity hell as it stands anyway?
This team looks (bleep) without LeBron as is, I've seen nothing of this young core to suggest they'd go onto win 40-50 games a year. |

We were top 4 in the West and rising before the injuries hit.
38 million of cap space is part of our team.
We were far from mediocrity hell with LBJ and the core.
If something happens to LBJ... AD cannot win without substantial help. |

I've been informed by LG.com that Kyrie will be a Laker this summer. He seems to be able to lead his teams to the playoffs at least. _________________ Under New Management |

keep in mind, the Lakers would only have a season and a half to convince Davis to stay in that scenario too, and if they traded for Davis they'd have NO ROOM for any other max free agent or moves. And Al Hortford becomes a free agent right as Anthony Davis would so.... Boston would be rubbing their hands like Birdman if the Lakers did something that dumb. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Cool. He can sign with the Lakers on 7/1 then the Lakers can trade for AD after the moratorium. _________________ Under New Management |

I can see them shutting down players and going into a tank, they're in no-mans land right now.
Probably best for their future if they just tanked got a high enough pick. |

"if the Warriors do not pay him"......nothing new here, he will not leave the Warriors as long as they do not try to low ball him. That has pretty much always been the theory/expectation. |

Everyone on here says no matter what Klay is not leaving. I have been arguing that they will not pay him so he is gone.
That's a Woj bomb so you know it's legit. GS will not offer Klay max they will offer KD max. |

can't really do that with Randle and Mirotic....those guys are playing for contracts. i would assume the NBAPA would go crazy on NO if they tried to set players on contract years. |

KD is leaving....GSW will keep Klay. I will go even farther.....if Durant stays, they still max and keep Klay. |

He said no |

That's funny but also extremely infuriating. Those mother (bleep), Mitch and Jim still haunting us. Moz-Deng worst moves in Lakers history. Seeing Dlo dominate on the Nets |
Wait until Lonzo is better than DLO and dominate elsewhere or when Ingram plays just as DLO, elsewhere again. |
well if it gets us a championship or 2 then it was well worth it. DLO was a sacrifice attached to Moz's horrible contract. That would be well worth it too if we grab an elite player with out cap space. It would have been even better if we never had MozDeng in the first place. |

if they traded for Anthony Davis now, they wouldn't be able to afford Klay.

Not unless he's willing to take a little bit less than max. And I know what you might be thinking: the only reason he would leave GS is if they didn't offer the max, so why would he leave the Warriors only to take less with us? In cases like that, I think it could come down to feeling disrespected by the team that has you and has a chance to pay you fully. Whereas, if the Lakers only had $30.5-31MM available (whatever the exact figure would be) but offered all of that, that's not disrespect.
Remember when Joe Torre and the Yankees could not come to an agreement on a new contract, and he got hired by the Dodgers? Well, the Yankees were offering him more than what the Dodgers ended up paying him. He felt disrespected because he felt he had earned a raise, and they weren't offering that. He came to the Dodgers even though we were offering less money. Maybe that's an apples to oranges comparison, but it's the first thing that popped into my head. |

They could also sign Klay to a max and then trade for AD. _________________ Under New Management |
