I don’t think we have to get a Mega Star to contend. I think bringing back Randle replacing Tyson or McGee with Randle and replacing Lance with Russell would make the Lakers contenders right away. Just my thoughts

Don't think D-Lo or Randle will come back until there is a front office change. Sorry bud.

I'm still in the thinking that we place all our chips in signing either Kawhi/Klay/Kemba/Kyrie while keeping all our young guys.

No we would not be ...neither would flourish with Lebron.

signing anyone one of Kawhi, KD, Klay, and Kyrie puts us at the top of the NBA if GS is also broken up.

I think we have a legit shot at Kyrie. Just lock him in a room with LeBron, Magic, and Kobe

We need to champion Giannis and the Bucks in the East. He needs to clobber all the free agents (Irving, Butler, Kawhi) in convincing fashion.

Relax guys just one freaking win on a last second basket. I’m happy just as you guys about the win, but this team needs two legitimate all stars to contend. This fact will not change just because of last night’s win.

The only way we’d get Russell back if the Lakers fired Pelinka, trade Lonzo, resign Rondo (a mentor to DLO) and ask him to talk Russell into sign a max offer, Brooklyn gets Butler and Kyrie and doesn’t match, and Magic got on his knees and kissed Russell’s ass while Russell says, “Apologize, Apologize.”

I would really like to see what this team would look like with consistant "shooters"

I look at games last night and was as happy as anybody but we did fall behind by 18 points at one point because our scoring dried up.....to me that has been the single biggest problem is a LOT of missed shots (and JESUS missed free throws)

The celtics made EVERY ONE of their free throws didnt they? WHile we were god aweful again and STILL won the game.

1. If Randle and Russell had never been Lakers, and were just free agents, I doubt them being the culmination of the free agent plan would excite many people.

2. I can't see Magic doing that, and having the end result of all this just circling back to guys he dumped to create cap space.

3. I don't think they would be enough to really make us contenders.

4. I don't know how much those two guys are going to get, but we'd probably have to clear out a lot of people to sign them both.

Absolutely!

I still Think Klay would be the better one to add then the others. Dude can shoot and plays Defense.

Ball
Klay
McGee
Bron
Kuzma Harris, or Butler

The team needs a Robin or a Robin ready to be the Batman and let Lebron be the triple double facilitator. Must be a shooter, something the kids are not. If it is a guard or guard/ small forward, he is a mobile 20 ppm player, likely with 3-6 assists or rebounds. A big of or center needs to be a 20/10 guy who can score outside the paint and not shoot like friggin third grader on a 10 foot hoop.

Randle I think is like Ingram, he really only works if he is the fourth best guy on the floor. Randle needs shooters to give him spacing, he is not a Robin yet. DLO could Work, especially if we had Davis. I think Kyrie is more likely.

NFW...

But you are correct about looking at what the Lakers are missing - let's start with their strengths:
SG: Ingram
SF: LeBron
PF: Kuz

Ok, so that leaves the weakest positions as:
PG
C

So what PG's and C's are available this off season:

PG: Kyrie Irving: 23.8ppg 7apg 40.7% 3pt
PG: Kemba Walker: 24.8ppg 4.4rpg 5.7apg

C: D. Cousins: Last year 25ppg and 13rpg
C: Nikola Vucevic: 20.6 ppg, 11.9 rpg, 3.8 apg

^^^I watched Cousins again tonight.....would not touch him with a 10' pole. He can still get buckets, but he us unable to defend a traffic cone and clearly has lost some of the explosion in his movement.

So Cousins just Big Al now? Should still have a solid career.

Well Pelinka just said Bullock or Muscala could be our Julian Edelman. That one player who makes all the difference.

comparing Bullock or Muscala to Edelman is just silly. Pelinka spoke about Edelman like he just came down from the mountain and started playing for the Pats this season....as if he has not been a force and big part of the Pats for years.

He also seemed to take credit for inventing the cap space plan and accused other teams of copying him.

And as if in the NBA, there is every even a remote chance in hell that players like Muscala or Bullock could be NBA Finals MVPs.

Pelinka is the same person who repeatedly described Lonzo as "trancendent" and "transformative" and stopped just shy of calling him the second coming..

So...hyperbole much?

I think Bullock has a chance at being a good story....maybe even a guy that hits a few big shots in big moments.....but Edelman is a couple more big seasons away from us having a conversation about him being HOF worthy or not.

Kuzma can be LeBron’s version of Pippen. He’s got all the talent in the world, is just in his 2nd season, and has the stones to take the big shot.

As Laker fans, we’re not used to long stretches without being title contenders. It would do us all well well to exercise just a bit of patience right now while the kids develop...we have 3 very young future all stars on this roster!

Love Kuz but come on...Pip was a long lean defensive specialist
