Both teams. He's the face of their franchise now, while we'd be better off with a rookie scale contract to continue pursuing Maginka's free agent wet dreams.

Trade LBJ in a second.

I'd trade Zion for AD and only give them BI and a huge salary filler. Hell might even ask for their draft pick.
that gives us:

Lebron
Max FA
AD
Lonzo
Kuz

We win 2 championships with Lebron and still would have a strong core to be contenders once Lebron retires. I'll take that over holding on to Zion and hoping he really develops out to full potential (he can very easily just become a shorter Blake Griffin)

Never in a million yrs. That good fortune has already happened for Lebron in Cleveland. A miraculous against the odds lotto win that conspiracy theorists has already talked about. For it to happen again in LA? No way. Even if the drawing was fair, I can see Adam Silver saying, "Oh sheeit. Lets do it over. I don't need this." LOL!

Besides signing a max FA this summer, one of these scenarios playing out is the only way I'll be able to start accepting the loss of D'Angelo. Though in trading for AD, I'd play hardball and make them give up more, since injury-prone AD arguably has less value than the potential that Zion represents.

I would "NOT" give up ZION and BI for AD (even though I am a big AD fan).

ZION is going to be something extra special. It sure would be great getting ZION while keeping the young core Bron, and then adding Kawhi....

Zion/Kawhi/Bron and the young core....

very little chemistry with those 3... they are all ball dominate. Anything is possible but if I had to bet I'd peg Zion at bellow what AD's peak will be.

The next 2 "should" be wins, but then again, this one "should" have been a win too... If the lakers cannot win both of the next 2 games, I will probably be jumping on the "tank bandwagon"....

Kings bout to win and pull off the upset in OKC, while we lose big to a tanking team on a B2B without their best player

Gotta shut Lebron down. Season is over. Going to take some people a little longer to realize it, but it's over. It's all about managing the value of our pick.

Shutting down Lebron now would be wise
We have nothing to play for at this point beyond getting a lucky lotto ball.

Love AD, but.....Keeping Zion instead of moving him for AD, also allows us to hold onto at least 2 of our young guys (BI/KUZ/ZO), plus probably another pick.

SO for me, ZION/BRON/Kawhi,BI/ZO,Kuz outdoes Bron/AD, and something middle FA market ..... Anyways Zion is soooo much pipe you will never see anything with all the pipes smoke in the way...

If the Lakers had Zion and LeBron wanted to trade him away.

The answer is no.

People keep expecting LeBron to turn into "2015-2016 LeBron"

But

1) That was 3 years ago. He's only gotten older
2) It was only possible because 1) Steph was hurt, 2) Draymond got suspended, 3) Bogut got hurt and was out the deciding games 4) they still barely managed to win. If you are counting on all those circumstances for it to happen again. Best of luck.
3) If 2015-2016 **Finals LeBron** still existed, he'd have channeled it when he got beat in 5 and then when he quit in 4.

LeBron is only going to get older from here. He will get his points/assists/rebounds because he's a basketball savant, but if you're looking for him to uplift your team, be a leader, make guys better, or play defense, you're expecting the wrong LeBron.

LeBron hit his apex in the 2015-2016 NBA Finals, and it took several circumstances for it to even be pulled off. So not only are we never seeing that again. Those circumstances are likely never happening again for him to be able to do it.

So it could be time to face what we do have, and what we don't have.

If we land Zion, you straight up tell LeBron "You're mentoring him and teaching him everything you know. And you understand he's going nowhere from the get go. If you have a problem with that, give us a list of teams you want to go to and we'll give you a list of how bad we'll gut that team before sending you there."

Anyway.

If the Lakers go 13-10 over their next 23 games, which it's looking like they might, if they keep playing this way.

They will finish the season 42-40 their first over .500 in years.

They would also finish around the 10-12th range in the NBA draft, I'd say 9-12th is about the right trajectory.

So that is probably where you should be looking at your draft picks for a thread like this. There IS a chance they could rise up into the top 3. But those chances are slim. The league would have to essentially rig it.

But anyway the 9-12 range is players like Jarrett Culver(SG), Bruno Fernando(C/PF), Keldon Johnson(SG), Romeo Langford(SG), Charles Bassey(C/PF) and KZ Okpala(SG).

I wonder how many people who say we can't get Zion also buy Powerball tickets. Because right now we have a 1% chance and it could easily go to 6% if we tried. Fall to where Dallas is and we get a 26% chance at a top 4 player.
