A stretch 5 who is not a 5 and can't stretch the floor.

I'd rather have Spencer Hawes for South Bay.

open tryouts!!. can you hit an open 3 and care on defense? that's an improvement from what we have.

Magic and Rob really revealed themselves to be incompetent in my opinion after this trade. 29 other front offices are probably laughing at Magic. Never seen a more senseless trade. Even Stephen A Smith is clowning it on national TV.

How do you know West had anything to do with this? Must be all your inside sources! Lawrence Frank is the President of Basketball Operations.

So true. Zu was really start to get going and he was the only legit big man on the roster who could defend big men in the post. Javale and Tyson are too skinny.

I feel like our years of tanking are being wasted by Magic- the good young talent we drafted is literally being jettisoned for nothing. Reminds me of the early 2000's when we wasted all of those low first round picks on "triangle fit" players like Brian Cook. You can't waste your picks. You must learn to develop your talent internally like the Spurs do or even Magic's other team the Dodgers.

Lawrence Frank: But can you prove that Magic and Pelinka are inept?

Jerry West(sitting hands crossed): Ask them for Ivica Zubac.

Lawrence Frank: Alright, and who are we offering?

Jerry West: Mike Muscala.

Lawrence Frank:

**2 Days Later**

Doc Rivers: When Lawrence told me, I said 'what did you say?'. It was a repeat moment like 'No, I think we are going to get him'. I said you're kidding me right?!

An absolute "HORRIBLE" trade in every sense!

Did West put a spell on Magic? Lakers lost a "potentially" solid player for years to come, and a strong trade chip to a future trade deal, all for a player that does not even compare to Travis Wear....

He doesn’t have to make the trade to be amused by it.

Regardless. Terrible trade and shows the ineptitude of everyone involved.

I feel the same. LeBron was just coming back too! And before his groin injury, he was just starting to realize what a great target he had in Zu. Big, hard picks Zu set too. So sad.

It's one thing to lose in the West, but this was a self-inflicted wound. We can't afford such missteps when we are working to get back to winning.

Agreed! We literally traded a crucial piece of a balanced roster with no replacement. This was not a massive misstep on the grand scheme of things, although tossing away assets is never wise, but it showed a lack of understanding and strategy that is frankly terrifying of what Maginka is capable of.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt over DLo, letting Bryant and Brook go and not resigning Jules, but the Zu trade really changed things in my mind.

If we don't outright sign another max this summer, not TRADE assets, but outright sign, Maginka needs to go.

Again, 0 justification for this trade. Everyone in the league knew Muscala was garbage except Maginka I guess.

Magic took Zu to the trade market and came back with some magic beans. Still waiting for them to grow.

National tv announcers were taking time to address Zu being gone and how well he was and is doing. No such mention of Muscala. Malinka were exposed nationally as incompetent.

Magic imo, is a classic representation of posts I read on lg. Trade the young guys. It's not like they're not all stars. Ridiculous viewpoint because, together they were worth watching. Now his team of 1 year hodgepodge misfits and a superstar who won't play defense isn't exciting to watch.

Even if they draft a good player, it's worthless to start identifying with them because mgmt doesn't adequately value young talent. Dlo, Randle, Nance, Bryant, Zu, and Svi are gone from our tanking years. Woon, it seems the majority of the rest of them will be too. But at least we'll have a 35 y/o superstar. Enjoy.

While I don't and didn't like the idea of trading Zubac for Muscala, Muscala is a better player than what he's showing for the Lakers.

Did Muscala suddenly forget how to shoot? He's a career .362 3pt shooter and now shoots .278 for the Lakers. If players are all suddenly becoming shells of their former selves as soon as they join the Lakers or suddenly become all-star caliber players when they are not with the Lakers anymore, what does it tell you about the Lakers?

It tells me that someone isn't using the players correctly. Someone DNPs someone then expects them to be instant "go" off the bench. Then if they get hot, they get benched. If they make a dumb mistake, they get benched. If they consistently play like a dumba** then they get played for 17-20 minutes straight.

So yeah, I'm not surprised these players have no consistency. Look at the game to game minutes. LeBron is the only one who consistently gets minutes and like it or not, he produces. Everyone else gets jerked around and put into lineups only a dyslexic syphilitic monkey playing yahtzee would string together.

LA didn't have a 1st round pick from 2010 to 2013. But since the ....

Drafted, not paid : Russel, Randle, Nance, Zubac, Bryant
Drafted, paid but dealt in a salary dump: Clarkson
Drafted, not yet eligible to be paid: Ingram, Lonzo, Kuzma, Hart, Moe, Bonga

Drafted and Paid: None

I'm guessing there isn't another team in the NBA who hasn't extended or resigned at least one draft pick this decade. I'm not giving them credit for Jordan either because he was quickly salary dumped.
