Lakers have assigned rookie Isaac Bonga to South Bay.

Quote:
In 17 NBAGLeague games this year, the 19-year-old has averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and shot 40.7% from beyond the arc. #SBLakers

With all these injuries, is it time to unleash Bonga?

I don't think Brandon Ingram would have any trouble scoring 30 points in a D-League game.

I'm not so sure. And Bonga is the youngest player in the NBA.

40.

G-League defense is playing 70% of the Phoenix Suns effort.

Ziggy. Your comment about Ingram didn’t age too well.

I think Ingram might be on LG. He scored 36 points last night.

"Isaac Bonga scores 30 points in a G-League game at 19" "THE TRUE UNTOUCHABLE!"

"Brandon Ingram drops 36 against the Top 5 Defense in the league at 21." "NOT WORTH KEEPING EMPTY STATS SCRUB. CAN'T WAIT TO TRADE HIM."

Looks pretty darn sad doesn't it? Too bad the fact some people have this mentality is true.

MJST, I’ve been playfully joking about Bonga. That wasn’t meant to be a dig at the young core. If you look back through this thread, I’m just being Bonga’s hype man

I believe Bonga has hit the proverbial wall. His play has dropped off from the beginning of the season. He has played more game minutes in the Gleague than he probably has played in his last 3 years combined of Jr and Sr national play.

Would have preferred he played PG or SG instead of SF for South Bay.

But even in games where he doesn't score his PER is top

Why is South Bay playing him at 3 when he's a 1 or a 2? Do they think he's gonna be a point forward now? And why groom him there when that's Ingram's position?

I guess now that he's 6'10 and still growing they could see him as a point forward, and he's too small to play the 4 right now. Even still.

The season's over; there is no reason not to play Bonga 30 plus minutes per game; he needs the experience.

This Bonga and Mo is all I have left this season. Also I didn't realize how depressing it would be to write that sentence until I actually had to do it.
