He has not had proper training with core exercises. If he's not serious about that, he will continue to have these type of injuries.
How do you train against a sprained ankle?
Core exercises that build the tendons, ligaments, muscle around the ankle. Certain exercises can help simulate situations where the ankle can potentially get hurt but in a controlled setting. This is where proper training is important. Fans who talk crap about the Lakers medical staff are directing their anger at the wrong people. The Lakers have some of the best orthopedic surgeons in the world i.e. Kerlan Jobe, UCLA etc. The training staff is a different animal and I'm not sure if they are very good.

How dare you. They trained the kardashians have to be good trainers
This guy simply misses too many games to be counted on.
Lonzo put on a bunch of upper body weight while recovering from knee surgery. It was probably predictable that the imbalance would create lower extremity issues, especially with his playing a bursty style. Probably best for him to focus on his shooting and lower body strength for the next six months.
So, DLO played 143 games in his first 2 seasons as a Laker.
Lonzo will only play 99 games.......
BUT...and hear me out here, cause you know... math and stuff..
But WHAT IF??? What if Zo plays all of next season, whereas Dlo missed some games to start this his 3rd year.
Seems those "games played" numbers would even out yeah?
I get the Fox comparisons but you can't compare zo to dlo just because one replaced the other if they are from different rookie classes. _________________ Creatures crawl in search of blood, To terrorize y'alls neighborhood.

I doubt it.....
Dlo played 191 games in 3 seasons....
Zo would need to play 92 games next season to even it........
5-14 since his injury and the team's defense dropped off a cliff. Kid is an important part of this team. Give him one more year and if he has another major injury it's time to move on.
If this team is making a playoff push, you think he is out there before the season ends? I just think they are being super cautious and why not, nothing to play for this season.

what is ESPN talking about when they keep advertising SportCenter tonight with the topic of "Patrick Beverley sounding off on Lonzo Ball"?
Beverley called him easy. Also said he's a "Weak ass mother (bleep), Bring him out on the court with me and I will tear his ass up."
Beverley has held Ball to five points in 47 defensive possessions against him.
Damn, Pat Bev don't (bleep) around. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

Confused how core exercises prevent a player from landing awkwardly when knocked off balance.
Not saying he does not need to get stronger, healthier and improve his skills. Every player should be doing that. Most are making that transition It is part of being a professional and the difference from being a 19 year old young man to an early 20's NBA professional. Even more pronounced by the time they hit their "prime" in the late 20's.
Every year of experience and training makes a difference. Part of my continued hope they let the young players develop. They are good now, wait until they become professionals. Similar to Ingram, Randle, Russell or even Zubac. It takes time that the Lakers FO is not willing to give them.
I expect Ball to return a better player. Hopefully the Beverly comments inspire a renewed dedication and competitive passion. Also hope he is still in a Laker uniform.

held him to five points. like that means anything when talking about a guy who blows his own layups, bricks his own on open jumpers and will miss freethrows like crazy. by the way he's a pass first and 2nd guy. so saying you held his points down means little to nothing. now tell you when he plays you he turns the ball over a ton, then we're on to something.
i've said this before, their is an art to defense, and it takes more than just hustle. it takes intellect. you need to know what the offensive guy wants to do and likes to do. does zo want to score? Not really, but he does love to pass. so disrupt his scoring doesnt do much. disrupt his passing and nowe we're talking about you've locked him down.

yeah, I watched....all I saw was the "easy" part....think ESPN really oversold the comments....not exactly "sounding off".
The Clippers are acting like the kids of neglectful parents, just doing anything to seek approval by hooking themselves onto the older brother screwup-but-always-more-famous, the Lakers

He's not the first guy to struggle with injuries out of college. But he hasn't had any disastrous injuries. With the right training, he'll adjust.
Let's all remember that Joel Embiid missed his first TWO seasons in the NBA. And he still struggles with injuries a bit. But there are very few NBA teams who wouldn't happily acquire and build around him.
Lonzo probably does need to prioritize rounding out his skillset so that his on-court impact is undeniable and consistent. The physical training can be done gradually, year-round.

I don't care who you are, you can't train to prevent a sprained ankle.
If anyone could, it would have been Kobe...
As for Lonzo, definitely need him more than any other young player.
And it's not even close. There is a reason why Gentry wanted Lonzo...
Will be very interesting to see how the Lakers handle Lonzo this summer. If they trade him, it better be for a guy that makes up for everything Lonzo does for the Lakers because as we've seen, even an NBA Champion PG like Rondo can't duplicate Lonzo's effect on this team's offense AND defense.
Lonzo vs Kuzma or Ingram? I'm keeping Lonzo all day...
